It’s September!! It’s so hard to believe how fast July and August went and here we are in September. I may be jumping the gun a little bit with my new fall banner but I was so cold today. I even had to put socks and slippers on! I think fall may be just around the corner for us and I just looked at the calendar and Canadian Thanksgiving is only 5 weeks away. So yes fall is in the air!
Also as we change seasons you may be finding the time is now to jump in to menu planning. If you are new here we welcome you and as well we welcome everyone that’s taken some time off in the summer and is returning. I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again, menu planning literally changed my life for so many great reasons. The sense of relief I feel come 4:00 and I already know what’s for dinner is the best. That’s the time when I’m tired, the kid’s are tired and by having a plan, a simple, practical plan, means I don’t have to melt down along with the kids. I can handle it. I’ve already done the leg work and saved my butt in anticipation of this moment. I am never so thankful about having a menu plan than I am come 4:00. I anticipated we’d be busy or tired and just not up to cooking. I anticipated it and planned for it. The pressure is off. I’ve purposely chosen quick and easy recipes that can be thrown together in a matter of minutes. I can relax. Thank you menu plan!! If I can do it, so can you! The time is now!
If are in need of a menu planner to use, be sure to check out the many options I have on my Pinterest Menu Planning Helpers board. As well I’ve got a fun Chalkboard “To-Do” List on sale in my shop today (plus free shipping site wide today too!) that would be perfect for menu planning.

I’m also very excited to tell you about another menu planning resource that I hope grows to become a valuable tool for you in your menu planning efforts. Awhile ago I created a Menu Plan Monday Facebook page. Some of you have already found it, whoot! So excited to know you have a Facebook page! Why have I not searched for that before? 🙂 Heading on over to “LIKE” you know being as I already do in real life. LOL!
Hope you have a great week. I agree, fall is coming and I can’t wait. My kids are off to school tomorrow for the first day and I have some baking planned and garden clean up planned. Ahh….

The honey parmesan pork sounds really interesting! I hope you have a good week and enjoy the transition to fall. I was ready to transition last week, with the start of school, but then our 70 degree temperatures skyrocketed into the 90s again… one last week of summer, I guess. The end of this week looks more fall-like and I can’t wait. I’m really excited about your FB page too – great idea.

Congrats on starting a FaceBook page, I’ll have to go check it out. Have a great week Laura. 🙂

I don’t know if this is happening with other people’s computers, but when I first tried to find the linky I couldn’t see it anywhere, nor the entries. My husband encouraged me to reopen the page a couple of times, and then it appeared! I am using the Mozilla Firefox browser.

It can’t be fall already, can it? Ahgggg… 🙂
But the air feels different and the kids go back to school tomorrow, so I guess you’re right! Our summer weather here only started really in August, so I was kinda feeling like it had only begun. 🙂 We’ve got some 90-degree weather predicted for the upcoming weekend – but it’s not the same after Labor Day. 🙂
We’re tearing apart our kitchen – but I’m still planning our meals. They might be simple, but it will keep us out of the take-out lines and use up our garden produce!
PS – I already popped over to like your FB page!!

We are still in the high 90’s most days, but we have had a week or so of 80’s…. at which point we pretend it is fall.
Slippers and socks sound so good right now.
Love the new banner and eager for fall weather.

I was so, so hoping to be able to use the pool today, since my husband is going to be closing it up pretty soon…but, alas, it ain’t gonna happen. Mother Nature’s opinion is, “If you want to get wet today, just stand in the rain that I’ve so lovingly and thoughtfully provided. Enjoy!”
Damn Mother Nature!!
Have a great week, everyone!

It has been a really hard year. My mom became ill, we moved her in with us, I am day care for my one year old grand son, then my mom passed away. I am still in the middle of all kinds of boxes of this and that between mom’s stuff, my craft room stuff we stored to make room for mom, and just general clutter every where. I am trying to get back in to some type of normal life, organizing as I can and bringing back menu planning to keep me on track. I was a little late getting it posted, but did get my MPM posted and linked up.
Thank you for hosting this site.

Hi Laura — I’m so glad to find you and to be able to share my menu plan for this week. I cook for a family that like their old favorites, while I’m the only one eats gluten-free, so my menu plans reflect that. I’m looking forward to checking out the ideas here!
