I’ve partnered up with technology lifestyle expert Carley Knobloch, from Digitwirl, to bring you some fun yet informative videos on various products and services related to technology that will help you get organized and simplify your busy life.
Today’s Digitwirl:
I’m so happy that Carley is finally talking about Cozi. I’ve heard so many of you talking about how much you love it for simplifying life and coordinating schedules amongst family members. It even has a terrific menu planning feature which is definitely something I could get excited about. Except I haven’t tried it yet myself because I’m a big chicken head. Well not really, but I am just an old fashioned girl who loves her old fashion big fat calendar on her fridge. But one of these days Carley and all her video cuteness is going to sway me over. I can just feel it. I must say this site does look awesome and did I mention it’s free? So if you haven’t tried it out yet maybe today is the day!! Let me know what you think!
Notes from Carley:
Ever try juggling chainsaws while blind folded standing on one foot? Sometimes it seems like that would be easier than juggling you and your family’s busy schedules. Sure you’ve tried date books, wall calendars, online options and post-it notes, but we haven’t found anything that works as well as Cozi to help manage hectic lives.
Cozi is a website/app that will organize everything from every family member’s individual schedules to your shopping list. Best of all, whatever gets entered on the site can be viewed on your iPhone, iPad, Android, Android tablets and through the browser on other mobile devices (and vice versa). Functionality that significantly cuts down on those “What! I didn’t know we had to be there, then!” moments.
A super simple to-do list function will keep you on track, and you’re even able to email tasks to other family members. Pssst, here’s a great tip from Carley, email or text yourself reminders too—it’s a life saver.
So check out this week’s Twirl (video below) and find out about one of our long-time favorite organizational tools that will simplify your life, and make juggling your schedule a lot easier… and safer.

I love how Cozi lets everyone in the family know on their cells what the schedules are, what is needed at the market, YOU NAME IT!

I love Cozi. I first heard about it from FlyLady and I have the zones, etc synced to my calender to keep me on top of my schedule and my house! Perfect!

I’ve been on this site for about 20 minutes and it’s already CHANGED MY LIFE. Thank you!

Ok, this site is seriously amazing! I love technology, but still love my big bulky planner that I carry with me, EVERYWHERE! However, I think I might like cozi enought to give that up… we will see! Thank you so much for sharing!

Love, Love, Love Cozi! I tried it out for myself and my clients moms and dads. I already manage my calendar through another software though and didn’t want to recreate the wheel to get everything on Cozi. I also have a lot of personal information for my administrative services as well as organizing clients on my calendar as reminders for only me and didn’t want to upload that information onto a cloud. I recommend Cozi to all my mom clients that need to manage multiple schedules as well as their job. Happy Organizing!

Hi Laura,
This is Carol from Cozi. Just wanted to hop by and say thanks to you and Carly for this awesome shout out, and to your readers too, for all the supportive comments. We love helping people stay organized!
Just a quick tip: If your love of a calendar on the fridge is holding yo back, I have good news. You can print your Cozi calendar (and your shopping and to do lists too)! Not the whole thing, of course, but a few weeks at a time.
So you can add everything you need into Cozi using your smartphone when you are out and about (or computer at home) and then print it out weekly to post for everyone to see. Lots of people who use paper say this helps ease the transition. Pretty soon yo may not bother printing anymore, but that is entirely up to you.
I hope this helps, but feel free to hop over to our Facebook page and ask any more questions you might have.
Best wishes
Carol @CoziFamily

Love it! This is for the perfect modern family.
Too bad my family is still stuck in the ancient Mexican traditions.
We don’t even have grocery lists, we just base everything on what we remember to buy…..I’m sure you know how well that works.. oh I mean how well that does NOT work haha

Cozi is one of the best things EVER invented. I don’t have a smart phone so I have no way to set up reminders and meaningful alarms. I have 6 kids in 4 schools with after school activities, lessons etc. I just enter the drop offs/pickups/dental appts etc into Cozi and have it send me a text 10 or 15 minutes beforehand. When I was out of town for a week, I set up all the events for the babysitter to get by text so it was just like me calling her to remind her to pick up the little darlings from Spanish or whatever. Same for hubby when I was gone for a long weekend. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Cozi!! AND IT’S FREE

I was one of the early adopters of Cozi and drifted off when Google Calendar came around. It might be time to give them a second look. It sounds as though they’ve made a lot of progress since then.

This is so cool! I love Cozi…I just featured it as my Free App write up last week (http://myfavoritefinds.blogspot.com/2011/09/favorite-free-apps-cozi.html). I try to write about a free, productivity app each week, and so far I’ve done Cozi and ColorNote. However, I might be switching to Evernote. Anyone tried that one?

I’m giving this a shot and set up a lot today. I am finding some things less intuitive than others. I also wish I could figure out a way to get my appointments from my iphone calendar into my Cozi app (I might, possibly, just be stupid and not figuring out how to do that) as that would complete my transition. have soooo many appts to move over from one calendar to the other that it’s frustrating me.

I use cozi, but I had no idea that it had the dinner planner on it, what a great tool! Going to try that out for my October meal plan.
Living the Balanced Life says
I a definitely going to have to give Cozi a try. I don’t so much have a busy family anymore, but I do have a lot going on in different areas of my life. Will check it out! Thanks Laura and Carly!

I have a Cozi account and the mobile app and I really like the interface BUT I wont switch until I can import the 9 google calendars I currently have. I really do not understand why they haven’t created an import feature yet. There is no way I want to input all of that again.
