Welcome to my June 2021 Favorites!
Hi y’all! Well it’s sad but true, my birthday month has come to an end. But the good news is that we are finally seeing the end of all our restrictions as of Canada Day on July 1st! I think we are the first province (Alberta) to open completely up so that’s exciting. Before we get into next month though, I will wrap up June with another catching up post for you. I have so many pictures to share with you all. Thank you for stopping by today, you’ll find all my favorites from this past month below. It’s so much fun for me to share these with all my internet girlfriends. Enjoy!
June 2021 FAVORITES
*I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. I’ve purchased everything myself unless otherwise noted.*
Currently celebrating:
Well I for sure have to start with my 50th birthday celebration that went down on June 24th. I’m still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I’m FIFTY! Crazy because I feel so young, ha! My friends and I did a socially distant birthday in a big field and the weather was kind enough to cooperate. It was so nice in fact that we sat there for 6 hours! Then later my hubby and kids took me out for a nice dinner where we sat out on the patio in the gorgeous weather.
I was spoiled will so many lovely and thoughtful gifts including this amazing photo book that was filled with such kind words and pictures from friends new and old. What a beautiful gift that I will treasure forever!
I’m so so very grateful for such an amazing day with friends and family.
Currently Drinking:
On my birthday I also enjoyed these refreshing Paleo Margaritas with a some girlfriends. I’ve made them a few times since (without the alcohol) to help me cool off during the day from the heat wave we’ve been having this past week. These are only sweetened with a bit of honey. Yum!! Don’t they look amazing?
Currently Reading:
Now that summer’s here my book reading has slowed down however I am happy that I’ve read 20 books in the first half of 2021. I’m currently reading Sunny Hostin’s new book, Summer on the Bluffs but it’s too soon to tell what I think of it yet. Have any of you read it?
Currently Loving:
As I mentioned, we are currently in the middle of a heat wave in the 40’s (100’s F) here in western Canada. Since these aren’t normal temps for us most houses don’t have air conditioning. I’m not complaining though because I sure do love summer and I have a few tricks for staying cool.
I’ve been spending some time floating down the river. It’s super fun and relaxing too as you can tell! The cold water feels so good!
Also I got myself a new Air Innovations fan and it is fabulous! I purchased it off The Shopping Channel when it was the Show Stopper and the turbo charge feature is really keeping me cool. I just bring it around the house with me wherever I go ha!
And I know I mentioned this little fan last month but it’s worth mentioning again. I figured out I could clip it to my headboard to keep the top of my head cool during the night. I purchased mine from Amazon.ca and I found a similar one on Amazon.com just by a different brand.
My flowers sure are loving the heat though that is for sure!
Next up I’m loving this super fun phone and desktop summer wallpaper. Daisies (and sunshine!) are one of my favorite things so seeing this everyday makes me so happy. I got it online from Lily & Val and if you subscribe to their newsletter the wallpaper is totally free. She puts new designs out each month.
Lastly I’m loving my new summer sun hat that actually fits my big head! I really do have a big head and hats are always too small for me. But this one here from Grace and Lace is adjustable and actually fits, yay! Cute too! And it comes with a black and pink band as well so you can interchange them. I just noticed that they are sold out on the Grace and Lace website but maybe you can find a clothing boutique near you that sells Grace and Lace and get one that way if you want. Grace and Lace is one of my favorite clothing brands. My red top above is also from Grace and Lace.
This picture below was taken just a few days before I cut my hair short again. Pink dress is from Old Navy.
Currently ORGANIZING:
Did you all see my Organizing Mantras post? If not I’d be so happy if you went over and had a read of it. I thought it turned out really well (if I do say so myself, ha!).
A small project I will be working on this weekend is our games cupboard. Not all our games fit in this space any more which is a problem. So the goal is to purge until it fits and tidy it all up too of course!
Currently Purging:
My donation station box is getting full but I haven’t had the time to bring it to the thrift store. I guess I’ll wait now until I add some of the games we no longer play with before I make a drop off trip.
What have you been purging this past month?
My Amazon Store:
If anyone is wondering about organizing products and wanting to see more of my favorites, you’ll be happy to know that I’ve got them all together in one place. Check them all out right HERE in my Amazon shop. So many glorious things! And I’ve added quite a few new items this past month.
Current Sponsor:
Finally I want to thank Smead Manufacturing Company for being a long-standing sponsor of my site. Smead is a woman-owned company well-known for its high quality, environmentally responsible products and innovative organizational systems. For more than a century, Smead has been committed to one purpose: Keeping You Organized.

Glad you had a good 50th birthday! Nice to be with friends. I am in mid sixties and my bday was iciest birthday I have had in years on Feb 14 when there was an ice storm. Out of power for 9 days. A friend from church brought a cake to me she’d got from food bank as grocery stores were closed as there was no power in town for a couple days.
I continue to keep house a bit decluttered daily. I seem to always keep stuff on dining room table! Way too many papers I just need to toss. I seem to keep too much stuff. Junk mail gets tossed when it gets in the house. Always something to take care of and keep my house somewhat tidy and clean!
I am glad Alberta Canada opens up. Oregon finally opened up today. Some stores may still require masks, which i think is crazy!
Take care and enjoy your summer!!
