Welcome to my April 2021 Favorites!
Howdy y’all! I hope you are all doing well. I am most definitely celebrating the end of April. We are only about 3 weeks away now from getting our outside flowers bought and planted. And I can’t wait! Oh and before I get into my favorite things, I’m excited to tell you that I was finally able to make my post text darker. Many of you have asked for this since I switched my theme last year. I so appreciate your patience as I figured things out. It’s so much easier to read now! Thank you for stopping by this little online home of mine. It’s so much fun for me to share some of these favorite things with you. Enjoy!
April 2021 FAVORITES
*I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. I’ve purchased everything myself unless otherwise noted.*
Currently Loving:
So while I can’t put my flowers out yet because it’s still a little cold, I did sneak my tulips out for a quick photoshoot. Love tulips so much especially against this bright blue sky.
Luckily the cold doesn’t stop me from taking naps on my outdoor couch either. I just snuggle up with my soft cozy blanket and drift off. Then I text my son to bring me a Pineapple Bubly because I’m too lazy to get up, ha! Naps are such a favorite of mine! This is the book I’m currently reading and so far it’s pretty slow moving.
Speaking of my deck, I’ve shared before about the privacy screen we use so that my neighbors don’t see me drooling while having my naps 🙂 In April I had to order a new one as they do start to rip after about 4 years. It is the best thing ever when you have houses all around and want to just sleep in peace, ha! It’s half the price on the Amazon US site compared to what I paid here in Canada. Find it HERE.
I’m also loving my new Joy razor. This was an Instagram influenced purchase. I saw someone share about it and since I needed new razors anyway I decided to try it out. Isn’t it crazy that it’s often less expensive to purchase a whole new set than just the razors alone? Anyway I love this razor. In fact I didn’t realize what a terrible job my old razor was doing until I tried this one. This one works so much better. It’s lighter for one, feels good in my hand and gets really close for a smooth shave. And what’s not to love about the name right?!
Next up on my April favorites list is the new Revlon One-Step Volumizer. I’ve used the older larger one for years. However it really was too big of a brush for my short hair. This new one is smaller with a 2.4″ brush as compared to the original 4.2″. I have super frizzy curlyish hair and using this gets rid of the frizz fast. Also another plus of this new one is I find it doesn’t get as hot as the old one did which I’m so happy about. I purchased mine from Costco.
CURRENTLY READING:
I read three fiction books in April but only one that I rated a four star. It’s called The Push by Ashley Audrain. I read this book in one day. It’s a bit dark but it held my attention and that is saying something for this girl with a very short attention span! I love books that jump between past and present as this one does as it keeps me on my toes. The Push really leaves you guessing.
And for my faith friends, just this past week, I finished Priscilla Shirer’s Elijah bible study with a group of friends from church. So good and I can’t recommend it more highly. It’s very challenging but in such a good way!
Currently ORGANIZING:
I found a new organizing product this past month. For years I’ve used cardboard file holders for magazines. However mine were falling apart from being pulled in and out of the bookshelf so much. While searching around on Amazon I found this cool contraption and I love the way it works. It’s a Foldable Magazine/Book Rack with four sections to it. It’s so much easier to access what I need because the fronts are open. Love, love, love.
Also in April I did my great closet seasonal switch out. I procrastinated this one as long as I possibly could. No lie, it’s a lot of work. But what a relief to finally get it done! Seeing the pile of clothes on the bed is a little overwhelming for sure. But being able to find what I need now without out having to dig through piles makes me so much less stressed. For more details on the steps I use to get this dreaded task done, visit HERE. I was able to part with 50 items of clothing this time around, whoot!!
Currently Purging:
I did two drop offs to the thrift store in April. My big bag of clothing donations for starters. See ya!
And then as well a bunch of stuff we purged from our basement after we painted it and rearranged some things.
What have you been purging this past month? There is always something to let go of!
CURRENTLY PRINTING:
In case you missed it, earlier in April I shared these adorable sunshine packages my son and I made up to bless others going through hard times. You can grab the free printable sunshine tags here.
My Amazon Store:
If anyone is wondering about organizing products and wanting to see more of my favorites, you’ll be happy to know that I’ve got them all together in one place. Check them all out right HERE in my Amazon shop. So many glorious things! And I’ve added quite a few new items this past month.

Laura, I LOVE the magazine rack. And I found myself zooming in on your books 😉
Funny you talking about the clothes swop; I just posted about that this morning too! Except I’m late and haven’t actually done mine yet (but this weekend ;))
