Hi friends, here we are at the end of a very hard long year. I’m having trouble processing all my emotions attached to it. If 2020 has taught me anything it’s the importance of living each day fully present in the present. That hasn’t always been easy for me. The world tells us we need to be better, to do better, to try harder and to set all the goals in order to achieve and accomplish all the things. I know that works for some but right now what I need is to just to get to the end of each day knowing I did okay. There is less anxiety in the present for it’s once I start to look too far ahead that it all becomes so overwhelming. I also find looking back at the previous month makes me happy as I remember all the things that put a smile on my face. And despite heavy circumstances, there are still many blessings that bring me great joy. So today’s post is all about my December 2020 Favorites.
December 2020 FAVORITES
*I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. All products shown were purchased by me unless otherwise noted.*
Currently Eating:
You guys I keep talking about pizza. I can’t help it. I really do love it but of course can’t eat regular pizza anymore. So I tried the Wholly Veggie! brand this past month and was thinking it was going to taste like crap. Because sweet potatoes in a pizza?? Sounds terrible. But it was really very good. Now it’s not Paleo but it is vegan, dairy and gluten free so I consider it a once and awhile treat for me. Even did a little vegan cheese on it and it was delicious. I bought it at No Frills (Canada).
CURRENTLY DRINKING:
Don’t hate me but I’m not a coffee drinker. I just really love a good cup of tea instead. And I love during the holidays when Second Cup comes out with their Holiday Blend Tea. It’s delicious and definitely puts a smile on my face every year at this time. I bought three boxes and am trying to make them last as long as possible.
Currently Loving:
My December 2020 favorites list has to include my new game of Monopoly. Not just any Monopoly though, Golden Girls Monopoly! Yes it’s true I am not a fan of Monopoly because it is THE GAME THAT NEVER ENDS. But for the Golden Girls I will make an exception. My girlfriend found this treasure at the thrift store which just tickles me even more because I love a fantastic second hand gift. They do also have it on Amazon though HERE. Can’t wait until I can visit with friends again so we can play for a good couple of hours.
We’ve also been doing some Cobble Hill puzzles this season. One of these was a favorite, the other one was not. Can you guess which is which?
That wolf puzzle (picked out by my husband I might add!) was a beast to do. I was so glad when that one was finished. The other one, while also a thousand pieces, was much easier just due to the color variation. I enjoyed that one so much more.
We’ve also gotten in some cross-country skiing which makes me so happy. Especially when the weather looks like this out. And the temperatures were only about -10C (14F). Amazing!
CURRENTLY planning:
I have two favorite planners that I love and will share more about those in an upcoming post. For now I’ll be switching out my fridge calendar to my new 2021 one. I always do it at the start of the new year rather than in September when the calendar starts. This Ultimate Family Calendar is the same one I’ve been using for years and you can read all about why I do right HERE. It really is the best family calendar!
Currently Watching:
Okay so this is a goal I could actually get behind. I’m still watching Hallmark Christmas movies and have made it to #42 so far! This is the list I keep on my phone in my Reminders app.
This has basically been my life right here watching TV day after day with my Bella girl. And how awesome is that Homebody pillow crocheted by another girlfriend? It definitely makes me smile because it’s so me!
And of course I have to watch while wearing my Hallmark movies watching shirt as well, ha! This was purchased from a small boutique here in Canada.
I’m still not done though and will keep on watching them for another week or so :).
CURRENTLY REcommending:
The Organize Like a Boss online challenge is back! I’m super excited that this event is happening again in January. So many of you took part in it the last time it was run and loved it. Now Sarah is back and running the Organize Like a Boss challenge once again! I know so many of you are itching to get your homes decluttered and put back together again after the holidays.
With a little help, it’s time to get a handle on all the clutter in your home. Because a less chaotic home makes for a much more calm home. It really does! Yet lack of motivation and overwhelm are the two biggest roadblocks we face if we want a clean, clutter-free home that feels great. That’s where the Organize Like a Boss challenge comes in. Sarah will show you how to declutter and organize 5 hotspots in 7 days. And she does it in a way that’s easy and doesn’t cause stress. Small, bite-size pieces that can fit in any busy schedule.
Here’s how the Organize Like a Boss challenge works:
- Only $20 to join!
Currently Purging:
In December I wasn’t organizing as much but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t adding things to my Donation Station (a box in my linen closet) daily. I took one load over to the thrift store to donate and my box is full again and needs to be dropped off in the new year once they open again.
What have you been purging this past month?
Currently ORGANIZING:
Actually now that I think about it, I did do one organizing project in December. And that was to organize my recipe binders before Christmas. Since we now eat a mostly Paleo diet I decided it was time to pitch all the printed recipes we no longer use. It ended up being a pretty big pitch pile.
It was a fun couple of hours spent.
I still need to fix the labels on the outside but hopefully I’ll get that done soon.
My Amazon Store:
If anyone is wondering about organizing products and wanting to see more of my favorites, you’ll be happy to know that I’ve got them all together in one place. Check them all out right HERE in my Amazon shop. So many glorious things! And I’ve added quite a few new items this past month.
Current Sponsor:
Finally I want to thank Smead Manufacturing Company for being a long-standing sponsor of my site. Smead is a woman-owned company well-known for its high quality, environmentally responsible products and innovative organizational systems. For more than a century, Smead has been committed to one purpose: Keeping You Organized.
If you are working from home right now, you will find their round up of 20 home office organization ideas that will keep you organized in style super helpful. I especially think the Stadium File is brilliant! You can find Smead on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest as well as on their awesome Podcast and YouTube channel!
I hope you enjoyed taking this peek into my life and my December 2020 favorites. Tell me something that you are currently loving in your life. And if you’ve got any questions, let me know.

I am slowly going thru things at home. Tossed a bunch of old Christmas cards from 2015-16 that I found. Most recycled. I am still working on getting thru stuff in my family room. Needs out of there. Too many items in tubs I’ve not used in years. Did find some photos I misplaced. Sigh. 2013? Thanks for your encouragement. Happy New Year and have some fun times while being safe and secure. ???
