Hi there friends. Happy New Year’s Eve to you! Is 2020 going to be the year you get organized? Well if it is I want to help. Let me know in the comments what area you struggle with the most and I will address these spaces in future posts. I won’t know unless you tell me!
Dec 2019 Monthly Recap:
- *I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.*
I so enjoyed the holidays with my entire family home. However now that my big kids have left, I am feeling so sad and have cried many tears. The goodbyes just never get any easier.
To distract me, I spent a chunk of time yesterday getting my January 2020 calendar updated with my youngest son’s (14) sports schedules. This is the fridge calendar I use for my family and have for years. I wrote more about it HERE if you are interested. I usually buy mine at Costco.
It keeps us on all track since we are juggling multiple sports and weekend tournaments. And yes it is busy. But we only have one kid left at home and I am actually enjoying being a sports mom so much. So much so that I finally invested in a proper stadium seat. Those bleachers are tough to sit on for hours on end. Seriously best money I ever spent! The seat is all black, I don’t know why in this picture it looks wet. It came in a pack of two so my husband got one too. I’m nice like that 🙂
December Purge Pile:
I donated one huge purge pile at the beginning of December. As I was pulling out my Christmas decor this year, I really got ruthless and purged so much more. Many of you will remember my huge Christmas decor purge of 2018 and I still found more to get rid of this year. And then I went on a hunt around my house and collected even more stuff to let go of. Stuff I no longer loved or was using. It feels so amazing! I want everyone to experience this high! The time to purge is now, no more excuses!
Did you accomplish any big (or small) organizing projects or donate some purge piles in November? Tell me about it in the comments!

My best decluttering rule is that I schedule a veterans organization pickup every single month. Even if I haven’t started a donation pile, that date on the calendar forces me to get rid of at least one bag a month – and it’s usually more!
