The following closet tip is a guest post on divided containers from regular contributor, Kristin at The Gold Project.
It is not a secret. I am a huge fan of divided trays. I use them in almost every room in my house. I like that they make my drawers look uniform and put together and they also do not cost a fortune. You can find them at just about any retailer; Wal-Mart, the dollar store, Ikea, Target, and the list goes on.
Today, I am sharing the top ways I use them in my home and at work.
Divided Containers for Hair Ties
I have all of my hair ties divided out by type: headbands, bobby pins/barrettes, small ponytail holders, large ponytail holders, and clips.
Divided Containers for Mailing Drawer
Mail used to be a crazy beast in my house. That is until I got a system that works for me. I set up this system in 2014 and it is still going strong today. My extra checks get a compartment, my address stamp gets another, and then envelopes are organized by size.
Divided Containers in Work Desk Drawers
Opening my desk drawers at work makes me happy. I see a drawer full of bright office supplies divided by type. I have highlighters in one compartment, erasers in another, then tape, pencils, and pens.
Divided Containers for Makeup
I have tried several different ways to organize my small makeup collection, but I always go back to a divided tray. I like to keep all of my lip products together, my eye products together, and foundation type of products together. So, when I am putting on my makeup in the morning, I know exactly where everything for each area of my face should be located.
Do you use divided trays to organize in your home? I would love for you to share your ideas with me.
My name is Kristin and I am a middle school career education teacher by day and a mommy/wife/blogger by night. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have two loving children. We recently made a life-changing move to Arkansas, so our new house is always under construction. I get excitement out of finding new creative, functional, and cute ways to organize things! I also enjoy writing and documenting life as it happens. So, I put these loves together and created The Gold Project. With the help of my husband, I am attempting to turn our house into a home. So, check out this special place of mine and take this journey with me!

Yes, you really can’t get organized with small things in a larger space without structure! There are so many affordable options available, including digging around for some small boxes you may have on hand. Even the plastic trays from grocery store cookies can be reused, especially when you have a very shallow drawer!

An you tell me where you got each of the trays?
