The following is a guest post from regular contributor, Rachel.
One quick Google search and you can find dozens of ways to use the 3-tiered Ikea RASKOG utility cart. This popular piece has been known to stylishly organize almost anything; from kitchen supplies to diaper changing stations. I happen to have one, in the dark gray color, keeping our 2nd bathroom/guest bathroom orderly.
My usage of this popular cart is nothing extraordinary, but I promised I would share the details. So, here I am, sharing the deets. 😉
Bathroom Organizing with an Ikea RASKOG cart
We have a narrow & awkward space in our girls’ bathroom. This particular powder room often doubles-up for guests. Therefore, I needed a versatile organizer to make the most of this little blank “hole” to the left of the bathroom vanity.
The cart fits in the blank space perfectly, and swivels easily on the four caster wheels. We have very little vanity countertop space, which begs more surface area for our friends’ toiletry bags. That’s exactly why the multi-leveled tiers come in handy!
Basically, I filled the cart with things useful to our everyday needs as well as our guests’ needs. I keep extra TP on the bottom tier. Bath towels and washcloths on the middle tier (extra towels are in the linen closet, as this cart doesn’t house a complete set of bath linens).
The top tier is left relatively “open” to act as pseudo countertop space; somewhere to set down hairbrushes and the like. However, when guests are coming from out-of-town, I add a jar of hospitable toiletries here.
The toiletry jar is stashed in the linen closet when guests are gone; I’m afraid little hands in my house would help themselves to a whole lot of mess-making fun. I’m not worried if the towels get pulled off the cart, but I draw the line at finger painting the carpet with trial sized jars of shampoos and lotions. 😉
I know this isn’t the most creative way to use the Ikea RASKOG, but it fits the need in our home. I like that it can be easily rolled out and used elsewhere if necessary. But, for the most part, it serves a great and versatile purpose for what was once an awkward and useless space in the bathroom. Oh, and don’t forget about my favorite organizer that fits the cart shelves perfectly (read about it HERE). You can imagine the OrgJunkie delight of using an organizer (the divided bin) inside an organizer (the cart)… oh the ways to tidy up bathroom clutter! 🙂
Thanks for all the comments last time! Keep ’em coming! How do you, or how would you, use the Ikea RASKOG cart in your home???

Love it, Rachel. Who doesn’t love that cart? My daughter has it at college (in the vintage blue)… but i like the black in a bathroom. I can think of many client situations where this would be very helpful!

Ours is in the laundry room next to the utility sink. It houses all our dog shampoos, dog conditioners, dog washing towels, etc. We wash our two dogs in the sink, so it’s very convenient and fits the space very well.
