Hi everyone! The countdown is on, only 4 more sleeps until my 45th birthday and my big polka dot party! I’m so super excited about it but I have so much to accomplish before then. I was wondering why this birthday party seemed like so much more work to me than the big 40th I threw for myself. And that’s when I realized it was because I didn’t have my daughter helping me out this time. She is away at University and I am so missing her assistance this year. Last time she was making printables for me and helping with all the food prep. It was such a beautiful thing 🙂 Then if that didn’t make me sad enough I was at Costco yesterday and bought my middle son the last school backpack that I’ll ever buy him since he’ll begin his Grade 12 year in September. Yikes, so hard to believe, why do they have to grow up anyway?

My parents always lamented that just as we were old enough to be really helpful, we moved out. haha! None of us moved too far away from home, though. Happy birthday to you!!

Happy Birthday week! It’s so sweet that you’re missing your daughter’s help – I was always right in the middle of what my mom was doing. Not only was it fun to spend time with her, I learned so much about how to cook and run a household!

Happy Birthday! You are so much like me in the fact that I love to celebrate birthdays too (mine included)! I will be 40 this year and am planning a trip to New York with my family. Can’t wait to see the lights lit up at Rockefeller Center during Christmas Time.
Can’t wait to hear how your party goes and see lots of pictures when you post. Have a great birthday, Laura!
