Hi everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. As most of you know, I sit down on Sunday nights and do my menu planning because I always go grocery shopping on Monday mornings. If I didn’t do my menu planning, I wouldn’t be able to do a grocery list and if I didn’t do a grocery list how would I even know what to buy at the grocery store?? It’s a dilemma. 10 years ago before I started menu planning, I did the “shop without a plan” method of grocery shopping and gosh did it cost me a whole lot of extra dough. Maybe you are there now and struggling with grocery bills that are blowing your budget right out of the water. Menu planning can make such a huge difference with that. If you need a push and some extra help I just found out that the Grocery Budget Makeover course offered by Erin at $5 Dinners, is once again open for registration but today is the last day.
Erin cut her grocery bill in half using a combination of strategic grocery shopping, meal planning & couponing methods. And now she is sharing all her years of savvy grocery planning and shopping in a step-by-step program that will flip turn upside-down the way you grocery shop…forever!
Each week of the course, she emails participants videos to watch, worksheets (yes, there will be homework!), free resources to use that week, plus fun tips and tricks and of course, a weekly challenge. Plus cooking demos and some other fun surprises too! More information can be found right HERE. Check it out!
Here’s what we’ll be eating this week.
My Weekly Menu Plan:
Monday: Breakfast for dinner ~ Almond Flour Pancakes
Tuesday: Crockpot Honey Pork and Apples served with rice and broccoli
Wednesday: Honey Lime Chicken Thighs served with spinach salad
Thursday: Leftover buffet
Friday: Pizza Party Friday Night! and for me Easy Garlic Shrimp
Saturday: Grilled steaks (with this steak rub) served with baked potatoes and carrots
Sunday: YOYO (you’re on your own!)
Have a wonderful week everyone!!

I am lucky. I never shopped without a plan. It just seemed too strange to me to just randomly buy food. I recently found menu plans from 20 years ago. Boy, did I eat differently before kids. Thanks again for the party.

I have saved a ton of money by shopping with a plan! I wouldn’t want to do it any other way.
Our birthday boy is requesting pancakes for his dinner, so we’ll also be having a brinner this week. 😉
Have a great week!

I spent so many years shopping without a plan. It’s been close to 10 years of shopping with a menu plan in place and it really does make a big difference.
Have a wonderful week.

I often wonder how we did it without a plan and then I remember we mostly ate frozen not so healthy meals 🙁

Just posting what I am eating for dinner once a week has been amazing. Because of my wheat intolerance, 5 dollar dinner sound nearly impossible but the planning aspect with more detail might save us some bucks toward our dream trip.

Oh that sounds like a great goal!

I do my planning after I shop. This is because I don’t shop for specific meals, I shop for sales, for staples we need, and for what is in season. Then, after assessing what we have in our pantry, fridge and freezer, I make up a menu based on what we have and what is on sale. That way, I can set a budget and stick to it, and we eat more seasonally. It saves us much more money than when I made our menu and then shopped for it.
