Welcome back everyone! How was your week? I was so happy to see so many of you check out the MPM Facebook page. I’ve been adding menu planning resource links as I find them and I want you to feel free to as well. We’re all in this together…week after week just trying to do the best for our families.
My favorite recipe from last week goes to the Slow Cooker Parmesan Honey Pork Roast. It was absolutely delicious and it just couldn’t be easier to throw a meal together. That’s the way I like it! Also I finally got the chance to try out Amy’s Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Sea Salt Cookies. Gosh were they ever good.
So this week I had a day where I wasn’t feeling well and the planned dinner just didn’t happen. I always keep a frozen pizza in the freezer for such a time as these. I really can’t stand frozen pizza though, as it tastes just like cardboard to me and it’s not the healthiest of choices that is for sure. However there is one that actually doesn’t taste half bad as far as frozen pizza goes…it’s called President Choice Chicken Bruschetta Thin & Crispy (no affiliation). It’s pretty tasty, have you tried it?
Do you have a favorite frozen pizza? What is your fall back meal?
Hope everyone has a great week!

I have been trying to double up on freezer-friendly meals so I can fall back on those on busy days when I don’t have time to cook. Slowly but surely I am building up a stockpile of them. Thanks for hosting each week!

We have breakfast for dinner on the menu this week, too.
I have discovered the Glutino Spinach & Feta gluten free pizzas. They really are only big enough for one person but they make a great lunch for me during the week. I don’t care for their Duo Cheese pizzas but the Spinach & Feta one is awesome.
Have a great week!

I had a pretty good week for a change. If you like pork roast, you have to try the Flavorful Pork Roast recipe in the Fix It & Forget It Big Cookbook. Only five ingredients, but was it ever delicious. Changed my mind about cooking pork roast, I had just about given up on them. I posted all about the meal, my mom’s green bean recipe and my new pasta maker on my blog.

if anyone is interested. Thank’s Laura for being the great hostess that you are.

We very rarely eat frozen pizza, but when we do, it’s Digiorno’s stuffed crust pizza. Have a great week Laura. 🙂

Pasta is usually our fall-back meal, made with a super easy Roasted Tomato Sauce that I make and freeze each year from the garden. I make a bunch to keep us through the rest of the year and then it becomes our easy meal!

I’m so sorry you’ve been under the weather. But those frozen pizzas can really be a help!! We have not quite found the perfect brand. We tend to be very picky about pizza. We generally choose Jack’s self-rising, but it is just a bit too expensive for us. Sometimes we like Kroger brand self-rising, but again, only when it is on sale.

I LOVE frozen pizza, actually. My favorite is the garlic crust with chicken but am totally ok with Delissio’s pepperoni pizza. A real treat for our family especially if you can buy it for $4!

It’s going to be a slow cooker kind of week … actually, every week from now until the end of football season — AT LEAST — will heavily feature the slow cooker. There just aren’t enough hours in the day, otherwise!
Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

That pork roast sounds wonderful! I’m putting it on my meal plan for our next family Sunday dinner.

I don’t think I have favorite frozen pizza but the boys like the Red Barron brand and it’s one of my fall back meals as well. My other fall back meals are French toast (or pancakes or anything that would qualify as breakfast) and frozen leftovers (if I make a large batch of something, I try to put the leftovers in the freezer for days when the meal plans aren’t quite working out).

I’ve been trying to figure out all day why my blog has been going nuts…and I just realized that you’re planning on making my brown sugar and spice chicken! Thanks for linking up to me! I’d love to hear how the recipe went for you. Your link party is the first one I ever checked out (before I became a blogger), so it’s even more special that you’re using the recipe. Have a great week

I tried to post my link to Menu Plan Monday three times today, and it has never appeared! I’m not sure what happened. This is my first time to post, and I cook mostly Traditional Foods/Nourishing Traditions. Here is the link to my Menu Plan: http://pastorandbartender.blogspot.com/2012/09/bacon-mayo-and-meal-plan.html#!/2012/09/bacon-mayo-and-meal-plan.html
Thanks!
