Canadian Parents has a fun clutter quiz up on their site right now where you can answer 10 questions, score yourself and find out how organized you really are. Now most of us don’t really need a quiz to tell us this information (do we?) but it’s always fun to see what they have to say about us. Quizzes like these bring me right back to my teen years when I would read my Sassy magazine (anyone else remember that one?) and answer the silly girl quizzes to find out what kind of friend I am or what kind of boy I was most likely to marry. Ha!
The funny thing is I gave myself a little heart attack after reading my results from this little innocent clutter quiz. When I went to see what it said for getting 24 points out of 30, this is what it told me about myself:
“Way to go! You’re a not too shabby wanna-be clutter buster! You get major points for trying real hard and you’re well on your way to total clutter-free bliss. Our Clutter Control Club is just what the doctor ordered to put the final touches on your new way of life!”
Ack! WANNA-BE CLUTTER BUSTER??? Excuse me? That doesn’t look so good for an organizing junkie now does it?? I instantly could feel little beads of sweat start to roll down my forehead. How could this be? I started talking to my laptop demanding to know what kind of crazy quiz this was anyway. Doesn’t it know I’m addicted to organizing, that I talk to my containers, that I live, breath and sing organizing? This is not good, not good at all. That’s it, I’m a fraud. This must never get out that the girl high on organizing is really only a wanna-be clutter buster. I can never show my face again, I’ll be ruined! I scrambled to go back to the questions. I had to find out what happened and that’s when I saw it. A question I didn’t see the first time around. I’d forgotten to answer a question!! I’D FORGOTTEN TO ANSWER A QUESTION!! I quickly fixed my mistake and was so relived to see my new score was now 27 out of 30 and this is what it now said about me:
“Congratulations, you have arrived! You’re a clutter-free organization maven! Your consistency and hard work have paid off. Before you pat yourself on the back, is there a hidden storage room where you’re stashing all your junk? You can still benefit from our Clutter Control Club as we tackle those hard to handle spaces.”
Whew…all is right again with the world. I have arrived!! I really am a junkie!! A clutter-free organization maven at that, yeehaw! So what if I don’t make my bed everyday, or have to spend 20 minutes tidying up for guests or find my kid’s toys occasionally scattered across the floor. That’s life. The life of one slightly crazy organizing junkie and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Now excuse me as I go clean up my hidden storage room 🙂
So what did the clutter quiz have to say about you?
PS: If you need a little extra help in the organizing department, I see that the Canadian Parents site is also running a 30 days to an organized home feature for the month of April. Click on the picture below to check it out.
PPS: I have no affiliation with Canadian Parents whatsoever, I lost years off my life just for the fun of it 🙂

Woo Hoo!! I can’t believe after two years of trying to declutter my house and my life, I scored high enough on the quiz to match up to the Clutter Free Oganization Maven herself!
Shirls says
I scored 27 too, but I still don’t believe I’m uncluttered and organized. Though the 28 day challenge did get the room of doom looking more respectable. But I think my house is like a papaya – smooth on the outside but full of little black pips on the inside!
Tristen says
I scored 24 points!…almost there! I have one room in particular that I have my eye on to declutter.

I scored 21 points…. I figure it’s a work in progress & I know that I am working on things. The going may be slow at times but I know I am moving forward. It didn’t get this messy overnight & I don’t expect it to change overnight. The most important thing of all is the change in my head – the way I see things & the way that I do things. I think that because of this change, I’m able to move forward & not just shuffle the clutter & add more stuff to the mess. I’m actually purging & getting rid of tons of stuff!
BTW – loved those teen quizzes too!!

I scored 30!!! Finally that Type A OCD personality is paying off!

I am a wanna-be clutter-buster. I think I knew this about myself already. I just don’t have enough time in the day to go full power at the clutter busting. But I am making changes and slowly spreading the organization throughout the house. Next up – baskets for the girls’ rooms for shoes and under bed bins (cute pink ones from target maybe) for their mass of stuffed animals.
Michelle says
Your story made me laugh – Thanks, now I will need to take the quiz. Have a great day!
Liz says
I scored 18, but there were two questions that I couldn’t answer (no kids and not kitchen table/island), so I worked it out percentage wise and it puts me in the wanna-be-clutter-buster, which isn’t too bad. And then I went and emptied the dishwasher.
Colleen says
You’re funny:) And no worries, you ARE an expert!! I scored a WAY TO GO. I still need to work on making our bed everyday. And if guests are coming over I like to do a run-through. I’d consider myself on the upper-middle end.
And i bet your hidden storage room is already organized:)
Darla says
That’s too funny that your mishap was just a question not answered. haha — I scored a 27 as well. I’m not surprised, I like my whole life to have some order. I’m glad I wasn’t a 30, I feared I might end up there and that would be maybe a bit rigid.
Karri Reiser says
I scored 21 but I working toward a higher score.
Karla says
I scored 16, guess I need a lot of work to become a clutter-buster 🙁
Susanne says
Haha…I knew something was terribly wrong when you would score only one point higher than me on an organizing test. My problem area where I flunked was the dishes, although I do dishes several times a day with the dayhome, there still always manages to be dishes in the sink the next morning. And the kitchen countertops. Sigh. But I knew that already.
Martienne says
I scored 17, and that’s only because we just cleared the kitchen to get the counters replaced and have a dishwasher installed. LOL I’m lucky there wasn’t a question about whether anything is stashed in a random unsuitable place, such as having a utility tub sink in the laundry room filled with dishes.
FoundProdigalDaughter (Nicolle) says
uhmm….almost embarrassed to admit it here but I scored 17… but I’m okay with that because I know I’ve been working on it and it’s better then it used to be… I strive to get into the middle category but as long as I know I’m making progress I’m happy
Rosanne says
WooHoo! Scored a 30. This helped me make the decision to listen to my friends and start my own organizing business! I love your blog and the fact that I am equal with you means I could actually do it!
