It’s back to school week this week for my family. My youngest is now in grade one and going to school five days a week for the first time. I’m going to miss my little man while he’s at school all day. My middle son is going into grade 7 and my daughter into grade 9 (first year of highschool…yikes!). So with so much on my plate this week as we transition back into some sort of a schedule…blah do I have to?…I’m going to try and keep this short and sweet 🙂
I did want to tell you about a wonderful new menu planning resource I just recently discovered. It’s called The Organized Family Menu Planner and it’s a book of planning pages specifically for menu planning and creating a grocery list. I wrote more about it over here where you’ll find all the details and the opportunity to purchase if you’re interested. You’ll need to log in/sign up to see this week’s offer.
Okay so here’s what we’ll be eating this week:
Monday: Have It Your Way Tacos (family favorite!)
Tuesday: Slow Cooker Dilled Pot Roast (family favorite!)
Wednesday: Fire Island Ziti and Sausage
Thursday: Leftover buffet
Friday: Asian Chicken Wraps served with fruit salad
Saturday: Slow Cooker BBQ Pork Sandwiches served with green salad
Sunday: Picking night!
WHAT’S ON YOUR MENU PLAN THIS WEEK?
Menu Plan Monday guidelines and banner selections are here.

Yum! Your menu looks great.
My oldest just started her senior year. It is so crazy…. I’m sure your daughter will do great at high school. The biggest change in my kids when they started high school was that they all of a sudden wanted to sleep until noon every single day!
It is still hard to get them up in the mornings, lol.

My daughter started 7th grade last week and we’re still trying to find our school sea legs. It’s amazing how much I missed the routine as summer came to an end but am already wishing we were back to the flexibility that comes with no school. I wish I could have it both ways!

Hi. Having a menu plan sure makes it easier for packing my child’s lunch, too. I made him pizza rolls last night to take today.
Aug. 28th – Salad & crudités available during lunch & dinner
Sun. – Meatloaf with mushrooms (x 2), peas, creamed corn
Mon. – Race car sloppy joes, macaroni and cheese
Tues. – Pizza (take leftover crockpot chicken out of freezer)
Wed. – Chicken (freezer) & black bean corn salsa casserole
Thurs. – Takeout
Fri. – Beans, stewed tomatoes, etc. & couscous
Sat. – out or grill

Time sure does fly! My oldest is now in 5th grade and the #3 child is in 1st. I remember thinking this day as so far off, but it’s definitely crept in.
I need to check out those Asian Chicken Wraps. My family loves anything Asian inspired! Thanks for hosting!

Hi Laura!
I didn’t realize our kids were so similar in age! My kids are going into 9th, 7th and 4th grades! We have one more week before school starts though….I hope it goes well for your kiddos! 🙂

My kiddos are starting 4th, 5th and 7th grades this week! I kinda slacked off on summer menu planning, but we’re back in the swing again for the fall! 🙂

I’ve got one in 7th and one in 8th – they’re halfway through the school year, what with us being in the southern hemisphere 😉 Our summer break starts with Christmas, which is actually kind of fun.
Thanks for hosting the link-up!

We’re having tacos this week to, a family favorite at our house. My son is a senior this year, and my daughter started 9th grade, but I home school, so it’s not very stressful, or hard to get back into the routine. Thanks for hosting MPM and have a great week!

I like your “Leftover buffet” and “Picking night”. We call it a “help yourself” meal.

I adore your site. I am a natural organizer and I enjoy sites like these that give me ideas that I might not think about or entertain. You have some great cute and helpful link ups. Thanks for hosting it. I will have to join next go around! I am in the middle of a consignment garage project. 😉 Happy Cooking!

Bah- I’m with you! The kids don’t start until next week here, but as a teacher I’m back a little this week. Gotta put on my “fall mindset” even though I don’t want to. 😉

Hey, there it is. It’s taken me two days to find this week’s meal plans. Apparently, for some reason, this week’s menus didn’t link to the Menu Plan Monday page I have bookmarked. Glad to see that all is well. Now, what’s cooking….

I have four kids. Two in middle school and two in middle school. I don’t know how people get through the school year without a menu plan and a shopping list. We have been back at school for a few weeks and are still getting the hang of getting up early.
