It appears I haven’t given out a Storage Star in forever! In fact I almost forgot about this little feature of mine until I came across this amazing makeover and I thought gosh someone should give this girl an award! Oh wait, I could do that, she could be my next Storage Star!!
Do you have a designated spot in your home for your sunglasses? Are you constantly looking for them as a result of not having a “home” for them? Then create one! That’s what Madigan from Madigan Made did and I think her idea is absolutely brilliant!!
She took this “lovely” thrift store find:
And turned it into something of beauty in order to solve a very annoying problem she had:
Oh my word, how cute is that?! Seriously I want one and you better believe I’ll be keeping my eyes open for a spoon rack next time I’m at the thrift store. So awesome and totally inexpensive to do. To see a complete step by step tutorial with many more pictures, be sure to check out Madigan’s post here.
Congratulations Madigan! Thanks for letting me share your pictures here today and for being so brilliant!!

How would a spoon rack work for keys? I have an old one in my attic. I think some spoons on it might look cute as well.

Why in the world can’t we find these in stores? I know we aren’t the only one who has this problem.

What a great way to store sunglasses! I have a million pairs and I always seem to lose them, this is such a creative and pretty way to keep track my sunglasses!

Too fun! Who’d ever believe you could transform something “schlocky” into something so cool! She’s got a winner on her hands …

Love your alternate use of items like the fishing pole holder. The best form of recycling 🙂
I cannot bear to throw anything out unless I can find where to recycle its use.
RE: your web design. The dropdown menus are almost impossible to read with yellow background and white letters. How about changing the letter color to black?
Thanks for your efforts. I and a recovering disorganized junkie.

I have sooo many pairs of sunglasses! I used to keep them in labeled boxes, but it was difficult to find the right pair at the right time. About six months ago I bought one of the shoe organizers that hang on the back of a door…you know, the kind with plastic pockets? They’re brilliant for all kinds of organizing, but it turns out that they are SPECTACULAR for sunglasses! I can fit two and sometimes three pairs in each pocket, and even have space for cases, cords and any other accessories. It’s super-easy to find the pair I’m looking for, and they are safe from scratches and other accidents. This is one organizing solution I’ve been particularly proud of! 🙂
