Happy Monday everyone! What’s new in your neck of the woods? Did you have a nice weekend? Today is Family Day…a stat holiday for us here in Alberta! It’s my first one as BC, along with some of the other provinces, don’t celebrate Family Day. Bah humbug on them. I’m even going to be wild and crazy today and leave my grocery shopping for tomorrow, can you believe that! 🙂
I was excited to package up the 44 copies of my book that will be shipped out this week to the Say Mmm Giveaway winners. Thanks to everyone who participated in trying out this new printable grocery list feature, it was fun!
Also the winner of the No Whine with Dinner cookbook from last week’s giveaway was #154 Lori. Congratulations Lori!
And I must say that the Banana Brownie Waffles recipe I made from that cookbook turned out awesome! YUM!
So for this week I have a couple of resources I wanted to share with you. Go on over and check out this super cute DIY Menu Organizer and Magnetic Menu Recipe Holder. It’s so cute. I wish I’d had time to email her to ask if I could share the picture but I didn’t so I won’t post it here for you. Using someone else’s pictures without asking first (even if you provide a link back to the site) is a huge no no in my book so you’ll just have to go on over and see it for yourself 🙂
Updated: Yay, Erin emailed me to say it was okay to share her picture! Look how awesome:
I also thought this was a great post about Cooking for Others: A Guide to Giving Sympathy Meals from Simple Bites.
Don’t forget if you are looking for recipe inspiration to check out the Recipe Index Round-Up where you’ll find over 100 recipe indexes linked up all in one place. So handy! Please feel free to add yours as well if you haven’t already.
Here’s what we’ll be eating this week:
Monday: Teriyaki Chicken (I made a double batch last week and froze for a quick meal) served with rice and frozen veggies
Tuesday: Sunshine Meatloaf served with perogies and broccoli
Wednesday: French Onion-Pork Chop Skillet served with baked potatoes and roasted peppers
Thursday: Leftover buffet
Friday: Zippy BLT Wraps
Saturday: Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken served with french fries and carrot sticks
Simple Supper Sunday

Famiy Day sounds so much more fun than OUR Holiday… President’s Day. LOL!
Where did you get your heart waffle maker? I think it is adorable even if the boys might not be impressed.
On another note: It took me about 10 minutes to get your site to work this morning – said something about a database error. I am guessing it was because of the sheer number of people all trying to access your site at the exact same time? Just thought you would want to know that.

My new recipe I tried this week was the Brown Sugar Biscuit Twists from MoneySavingMom. They turned out delicious!

Family day here, too – as of a couple of years ago. I missed it from when I lived in Alberta.
Enjoy your family!

I, too, won a book through Say Mmm and am so excited to read it- I think it’ll be the first book I’ve read where I “know” the author (virtually, but that counts, doesn’t it?). 🙂
Oh, and I had no problem loading your page- came up like normal.
Thanks and have a great holiday!

Well this week it’s gonna be sausage soup; cowboy stew in crock pot; marinated chicken in crockpot; something with noodles;and that’s what I’ve got planned so far. Usually leftovers on Thurs since hubby is gone. Nice day out here in the Pacific NW, on President’s day. No mail, or banks or school. Off on Mon. anyway! Have a great week.

Thank you for sharing the link on cooking for others. My mind seems to go blank when I need to cook something to take in that situation. I’ll take every bit of help I can get.
I’ve been waffling (ha!) on getting a heart-shaped waffle maker, but now I think I must have one. Those waffles were to cute.
Have a great week.
