My friend Rachel Anne over at Home Sanctuary is such an amazing women and her blog is so uplifting and encouraging. Everyday she posts one small thing or task for you to perform around the house in the way of cleaning, simplifying and/or organizing. There are points assigned to each day depending on whether or not you accomplished your daily task.
Let’s let Rachel Anne explain:
Creating Sanctuary at home for yourself and for the people you love most is a lifelong journey. Along the way there are many wonderful days of joy and complete satisfaction, and then there are Those Days in which you can be overwhelmed with the chaos of daily life in this fast-paced world. I know because I’ve been there many times. Lord, help me, I’m there right now!
But over the years, one of the things that has helped me to have hope for experiencing true Home Sanctuary is to just make some kind of progress each day. Even the smallest of victories can buoy my spirits enough to keep me going.
I started looking at the tasks on my to-do list, and the things I want to do beyond that list to really make this place feel like a sanctuary, a refuge for my family. I realized that many (if not most) of them are very small things. It’s just that when they are added up together, the list can look so daunting I have a complete melt-down and can’t do ANY of it!
But what if I could do just one small thing each day to keep me moving in the right direction? If each thing took an average of 5 little minutes (loose change really), it would add up to 1,825 minutes in the course of a year! That’s about 30.5 hours of tasks, except they would in such small increments I’d hardly even remember doing them!
Love it! I’m particularly excited to share about it this month though because the monthly prize is a $35.00 gift certificate to my online shop AND a copy of my new organizing book! Super yay! Read her December prize post here.
It’s not too late to join either since it’s still the beginning of December and you’ve only missed two days this month so far. Check out this page for information on how to join and be eligible for these great prizes (if I do say so myself..hahaha). As well you might find her FAQs page helpful.
Rachel Anne has just released her own book and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. It’s all about friendships and I just know it’s going to be stunning. Look how lovely the cover is.
It includes gorgeous pictures and heartwarming text. This book would be an amazing gift for your girlfriend or sister or even your mother. More information can be found here.
Have a great weekend everyone!
