Oh my goodness I may have swooned when I saw what Diane of In my Own Style did with an old dresser in her mudroom to provide some much needed organization. I love that she picked up this old hollowed up dresser on the side of the road and transformed it into something completely functional for next to nothing.
Mudrooms and entryways require storage for so many things don’t they? We need space for things like keys, sunglasses, hats, mitts, library books, handbags, wallets, electronics, sunscreens, the list goes on and on.
What Diane create here was a home for all of it. She added some shelves to the dresser and some dollar store baskets and voila, storage galore!
Beautiful!!
It’s all about taking the resources we have available to us and making them work for our needs. This just goes to show you that not all solutions have to cost a lot of money. I love it! I also love the way she labeled each of them. Go on over and read her post for the details 🙂
Thanks for letting me share your post and pictures with my readers today Diane, you definitely deserve today’s Storage Star!
Have you ever taken trash and turned it into clever storage? I’d love to hear about it!

Fabulous! And to think what people are willing to pay at, say, even IKEA for something similar! This just rocks!

I did a post recently with a few things I’ve repurposed. Car seat insert, an old student desk, and some much needed toy closet organization.

Wow! I have the exact same dresser for my youngest but it is still intact. I love this idea. It must be great to have an eye for repurposing. Is that a word?

Have shared this with oldest daughter and now we’re both looking for old dressers to give them new life. Thanks so much!! BTW…also became a member of Diane’s site. Such creativity—my problem is not knowing HOW to think that way. But between the two of you, I’m learning a lot. THANK YOU!

Love It! I have an old dresser that would work. Now, if I only the space for this in my mud room. I wonder where else I could use something like this…

Very nice! I just switched out my old front-hall organizing system for a new one and share it on my website. The space is very tiny, and we put all our shoes, coats, etc., there, so finding the best solution for that space has been difficult!
