Hello my menu planning crew! Hope you are all doing well. We are transitioning into fall here so this weekend I switched all the clothes around. All the shorts and tank tops have been put away and the long sleeve shirts and sweaters have been pulled out. It’s always so sad for me since our falls are so short yet our winters so very very long. Can anyone else relate?
It was comforting to break out some yummy homemade soup though last week. The Loaded Baked Potato Soup was delicious served alongside some warm homemade bread straight out of the bread machine. So good! I love potato soup so much I’m going to make a different potato soup recipe this week just for the fun of it 🙂
For anyone who may have missed it, I have a fun giveaway going on over on my review site. A gift certificate for $50.00 towards some awesome organizing gizmos and gadgets. It ends on Monday night at 6:00 pm PST.
Here’s what is on our menu this week:
Monday: Fajitas
*also making some Kid-Pleasing Spaghetti for a friend and her family*
Tuesday: Beef Stew served with Bread Machine Garlic Bread
Wednesday: Pesto Chicken Packets with Whole Wheat Penne Pasta
Thursday: Leftover buffet
Friday: Sausage Potato Soup
Saturday: Baked Teriyaki Chicken served with rice and broccoli
Simple Supper Sunday
WHAT’S ON YOUR MENU THIS WEEK?

Hi everyone!!!! I really enjoy checking out everyones menu plans! I have some links this week including my homemade pizza that I have been TRYING to perfect for over a year now!

I ran across your website and MPM back in August. I have been on board since then. It has mad suce a difference … Knowing what is for supper (even if I do switch around alot) I know I have the ingredients on hand. It is also helping me not to overspend and plan better for shopping. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Also, I may be in the market for a bread machine soon … I used to have one, but didn’t really use it too much so I got rid of it. I have really been seeing its uses in alot of recipes lately … fresh bread is sooooooo good! Have a great week!

Here in NW Indiana, our winters are cold and long too. I am NOT looking forward to it at all.
The soup sounds yummy!
Thanks for hosting! And thanks for stopping by my blog this past week 🙂

Blessings around your meal table ~

Hello Laura,
I’m new to your blog, and I am already excited. I’ve been blogging for over a year at One Sacrifice For All Time, but recently started a new blog devoted more to family, bargaining, and homemaking. Looking forward to your site as a great new resource to help me in my journey to homemaking. I love your encouragement that organization is a process not a destination…such an encouragement.

I tried to link up and don’t see myself. May have three links…sorry.

I’m jealous! We’re still a month or more off from putting away the summer clothes here! I’m so looking forward to fall weather and yummy soups! Your menu looks great! I always find things I want to try on your lists.

I stayed up till midnight, and I’m still in the middle of the pack. Amazing!
I posted my meal plan along with a giveaway for a $50 Safeway gift card, so please stop by!
Mmm, soup sounds good but I’ll wait till it cools down a little more weather-wise.

I love potato soup! I’ve only made it once, though. I’ll have to check out that recipe and compare to the one I used. Thanks!

How I wish in Arizona we were putting our shorts away. Not even close. We do have the best winters around, though. I would love to have some autumn.

Thank you for another MPM. Have a great week.

Summer is arriving here and I am eagerly looking forward to the summer foods and bbqs

Potato soup may appear next week. My Beef Pot Pie may turn into stew if life gets too chaotic. Thanks for the ideas.

That sausage potato soup is SO going into the rotation…maybe starting next week!
Colleen says
We love potato soup here too! My favorite is from the Slow Cooker Gourmet cookbook, which is basically slowcooked potatoes in chicken broth and a sprinkling of bacon and chives.
Cara Mirabella says
OOH that sausage and potato soup might be a big hit here in my house! Thanks for the link!
Gudrun says
wow, you swapped out your closets already! I am impressed. Our winters are mild so I never get around to actually doing that. My son has been known to wear shorts in January 😉
I also made potato soup last week – green chili potato soup. Such a nice way to usher in the cooler weather!

This all looks good. Thinking that sausage potato soup needs to go on my next menu! Thanks!

It has really helped me!

I can relate you all too well about the weather. I’m in NS Canada and summer is over and fall is here and that means winter is around the corner! I need to make the clothes switch too, thanks for the reminder!

I totally can relate- we live in Alaska. Our leaves started changing a few weeks ago and already the mountains are red and gold. And in a few weeks it will be cold and snowy until the end of May 🙁

I’m making the Loaded Baked Potato Soup later this week. It sounded really great and our grocery store is selling 10lb bags of potatoes for $.98 this week!
I was thinking I would switch out clothes this weekend too – after a week that was fairly cool – but then it was 90F on Friday and that scared me into keeping my summer clothes available.
SavvySuzie says
You just solved my Kielbasa abundance problem!

No links this week. But I must say, the Pesto Chicken Packets look amazing! Definitely on the plan this week. I liked the Loaded Baked Potato Soup, but my favorite was the Grilled Honey-Lime Chicken Sandwiches. (Menu plan from last week.) These were amazing, and I will be making them again soon, probably for company 🙂

On my list this week is crock pot chili; turkey stuff over potatoes; eat at a birthday party tonight and bring home a plate for Phil.
Our weekend to the coast, menu wise went ok. We ate out one night instead of eating left over lasagne cuz I was craving clam chowder. Well, chowder wasn’t all that great. Never know what you’re in for when you eat somewhere else. But Phil’s eating leftover lasagne tonight at work so he’s ok with that. Had to go to the grocery store in Pacific City, where we were staying to get milk. Also had to get oj and fruit cuz I forgot them!! I paid cash for everything and there was a cpn for the oj so that helped alot. My eyes always seem to pick up the word coupon anywhere I see it. Yes, there was a store flyer in the cart so I got cpn from there. It wound up being 1/2 of reg. price as oj was on sale then had a cpn. Good perk for me forgetting something. 🙂 Sometimes packing for trips doesn’t always go the way we plan. I was semi-organized. I did take my clothes!!! Have a good week.

I really can’t wait until it starts to cool off here. I love to make beef stew in the fall. I am a few days late but I finally got my menu up.

Well, it got up to 97 degrees Farenheit here in sunny Arizona today. Our low was 70 degrees F. It’s supposed to get up to 105 on Saturday. We’ll have to wait a bit before it’s cool enough for soup and hot chocolate again.

I am looking forward to getting some cooler weather here in FL so I can add more soups and chili’s into our menu. I LOVE cooking in the fall and winter.
