Christmas Card Planner & Log

As most of you know I love lists and that was especially evident in a post I wrote last year titled “How Regis & Kelly help me get my Christmas cards done“.

Recently I had the opportunity to take this whole list obsession thing even one step further.   I’ve been working with a company called Springpad to create a customized online Christmas Card Planner & Log to go along with that Christmas card post and I’m so happy to share it with all my readers today (link below).

First let me explain what Springpad is all about.  Springpad is a fantastic FREE tool for creating online notebooks to help manage your life and the best part is that it’s fun and easy to use too.  They have notebooks to cover just about everything you can think of including menu, holiday, trip and chore planners.  Springpad can also help you organize your calendar and to-do lists and you can even give other people access to your notebooks, perfect for helping family members stay on top of things.  I highly recommend watching both of these short video clips to help explain things a little bit better.

New Springpad features (this one includes tips on how the menu planner notebook works)

Anyway if you want to test out Springpad notebooks go ahead and give my Christmas Card Planner & Log a try by clicking on the Spring It link below (you do have to register first before you can access it though).  You’ll also find the link at the bottom of my Christmas card post.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

The best part of a Christmas basket is?

The basket of course!  Oh my word how I love to make Christmas baskets!  Love, love, love it!  Arranging and rearranging all sorts of little goodies into a container of some sort.  Be still my heart…really does it get any better than that!!

Here’s a lovely little basket I made for someone this year.

And of course what would a basket be without a little personal touch from me attached to the bow…..he he….love my 3M Command Hooks!

(and yes there is something that needs to be hung up in that basket :) )

As you can see I love to use dollar store containers as my base.  Not only are they so wonderfully functional but they also come in so many fantastic colors and sizes.

They also just make me very very happy :)

Gifts in a jar also get me giddy at this time of the year.  Obviously I just can’t get enough of the gift containerizing, what a high!  For jar ideas check out Jar Gift Recipes courtesy of Organized Christmas.

And since we are speaking of Christmas this might be a good time to share some other fantastic links that I’ve been hoarding collecting.  I’ve mentioned that I’m not much of a baker (although I do occasionally give it a try) but I do love looking at the pictures of all the delicious concoctions being created at this time of the year.  The plus side?  Looking at the pictures is definitely less fattening than actually making them and eating one too many LOL.

Or you can make a big batch of Peppermint Hot Chocolate in your slow cooker @ A Year of Crockpotting

Christmas Cookie Countdown @ Short Stop ~ awesome pictures to go with each recipe

12 Days of Cookies @ A Mommy’s Musings

Cookie Dough Log Rolls @ Make and Takes ~ very simple yet clever gift idea

I may be scarce over the next couple of weeks (although I do have something exciting to post about tomorrow!).  I’ll pop in and out when I get a chance but I don’t want to put any pressure on myself.  I just want to relax, enjoy my family and maybe just maybe even read a book.  Ah that would be nice :)

Link-Tastic ~ The Office Edition!

Well here we are almost at the end of September and I’m only now putting up Mr. Link-Tastic.  I’ve selected some excellent posts that I hope answer many of the questions you have in regards to organizing your office.

One of the main problems with organizing an office is all the paper.  Paper, paper everywhere!  What to do with it all, that is the question.  I really didn’t feel qualified to answer this question considering my idea of paper management is filing once a year.  And no I’m not kidding.

So I thought I’d link you up with some ladies that are a bit more knowledgeable on the subject.

Professional Organizer, Brandie Kajino’s three part series on the topic of organizing your home office paper walks you through the process of organizing this area one step at a time.

Organize Your Home Office Paper ~ A Crash Course, Part 2 and Part 3.

Ariane Benefit is another Professional Organizer who knows what she is talking about when it comes to organizing all that paper.  She wrote an amazing series that is just loaded with helpful information.  Really, really good stuff:

The Issue of Having Too Much Paper ~ Part 1

The Issue of Emotional Attachment ~ Part 2

The Issue of The Quality Tools We Choose ~ Part 3

The Issue of Categorizing Your Paper ~ Part 4

Want to listen to some great paper tips instead?  Try this podcast from The Savvy Organizer ~ Dealing With Paper

For the crafty types out there take a look at this craft tutorial for how to cover magazine holders from One Busy Mommy.  Don’t forget you can also use cereal boxes as magazine holders as well.

10 Easy Steps to an Organized Home Office

I’ve just discovered a new site called Monkeysee with how-to videos on so many different topics.  They just happen to have a whole series on How to Organize Your Home Office.  I’m such a visual person so this works really well for me.

How about a little home office eye candy from decor8?  Beautiful!

Another great site, SmallNotebook.org answers the question, What Papers Can You Get Rid Of? and also talks about keeping a correspondence notebook so that you never pay a late bill again.

Finally I love this complete home office makeover by Simply Stated ~ A Home Office That Works Overtime ~ this is a very thorough post complete with pictures.  The pictures are a little on the small side but if you click on the pictures you can see them in larger version.  Enjoy!

You’ve still got time to enter the office challenge of Org Junkie’s Monthly Organizing Round-Up.  Hopefully today’s links give you the inspiration you need to do just that.  Go get em!

A whole lot of linking going on around here…..

Okay how much fun was that checking out all the basket love going on at the carnival? Really you should have seen me squealing with delight at the fact that I’m not the only basket freak around here. You guys are awesome! I still have a few more to check out but I’m savoring every second :)

So this month Org Junkie’s Monthly Organizing Round-Up has us working on the kids’ bedroom. How are you all doing? Hard to believe the month is almost over. I still have a few posts I want to do on the subject but what can I say, I’m easily distracted by basket carnivals and such! If you haven’t seen this month’s prize package you can see it here. Thanks to Lifeorganizers.com for their sponsorship!

I had intended to post about how to get your kids involved in the organizing process but when I read this post (link below) of Debbie’s I realized that she took the words right out of my mouth. So go have a read and just imagine you hear my voice in the background saying amen and amen.

Rules to Grow By: Helping Kids Learn the Basics of Organizing

And while you are over at Debbie’s take a moment to read about the super fantastic contest she has going on. You could win a 6 month virtual organizing consultation package valued at $570.00! Exciting stuff!

I’ve recently started reading a great blog called Life as Mom. Jessica shared two links with me that are very much in line with this month’s challenge so I want to pass them along to you:

Creative suggestions for when kids share a bedroom

Clean Kid Rooms? Tips for Making Fantasy a Reality

Finally Jason from Long Days and Pleasant Nights has a podcast up appropriately called De-cluttering the Kids’ Rooms that you also might enjoy. He has a great voice, seriously go listen for yourself :)

Happy organizing my friends! Keep plugging along on those kids’ rooms. I can’t wait to see them.
