I can’t wait to try these out as I can think of all sorts of places to use them.  As part of my command center for school papers or bills or by the front door for letters to be mailed, I think the possibilities are many.  When you want to move them around, it can be done easily with no hassles or marks on the wall.  So cool and I love the simplicity of them!

As I think about travel this summer I have been giving some thought as to how to make things easier to charge the kid’s Mp3s and Nintendo DSs while we are on route.  I came across this neat little USB Cupholder Adapter for the vehicle.

It allows you to turn your car’s cigarette lighter into 2 DC outlets & 2 USB ports.  How perfect is that for holidays!  I also love that it’s not too expensive at $19.95.   I think I’ll definitely have to get me one of those peacekeepers.  Update:  Woohoo, one of my readers found this available for half the price on Amazon: Twin USB/DC Cup Holder Adapter

When I was cruising around the internet I also came across another great USB adapter.  This one is for in the house.  It’s called the USB Hub Man and it means we don’t all have to fight over who gets to plug in when.  That makes this momma very very happy :)

I have been totally holding out on you with this one and I so absolutely didn’t mean to.   I found today’s featured product on the back of my little niece’s bedroom door when I was visiting last November.  I fell in love with it because it’s just so darn practical.   What lovely little product am I talking about?

The Koala Baby Four Pocket Organizer:

Babies have little stuff.  Lots and lots of little things to get lost.  I love that this organizer gives an easy home to those little types of things.  As you can see my sister uses two pockets for baby shoes and booties (aren’t baby shoes the cutest!), one for hats and the top one for odds and sodds.  It would also be great for bibs or socks or onesies or really just about anything else you can think of.  The pockets are actually quite deep and hold a fair amount.

I hate to see the backs of doors go to waste.  In fact I don’t think there is a door back in my house that doesn’t have a job of some sort as you can tell from this post I did.  Such great space behind them doors, don’t let them go naked!

This organizer is an exclusive Babies R Us product from what I can tell and it sells for $16.99.  My sister purchased hers in the actual store but they are also available online.

I don’t have babies in the house any longer but I totally wanted to steal this from my sister.   Then again I totally wanted to steal her daughter too but just didn’t get away fast enough.  Darn overprotective parents, sheesh! :)

I’m intrigued by new products.  I’m intrigued by the possibility of new products.  I’m the type of girl that loves trade shows and being able to touch and feel new products without having to commit to buying them.  I like to hear the spiels and touch the packaging.

At the Professional Organizer’s Conference I attended in November one of the products I was introduced to was the Homebox Filing System.  I’d never heard of this product before but I saw a box on the table and so of course I had to know more :)

Basically the Homebox is a ready-made filing system.  The beautiful box comes with nine pre-printed heavy duty storage folders to organize everything from career and education to health and finances.  What I was immediately intrigued by was the file folders themselves.  They are gorgeous!  But oh by the way the folders don’t cascade up like that when you open the box.  I asked!  That would have been really cool but apparently it’s for demonstration purposes only.  Oh well.

Each folder provides a helpful list of what to keep inside.  I really liked that.  Even though this is a Canadian company, the folders are listed with pertinent information (resources, websites and tips) specific for each location depending on where you purchase from (US/Canada).  Very nice.  Apparently each folder holds up to 200 sheets of paper too!

In Canada we have a great show called the Dragon’s Den.  Have you heard of it?  A panel of investors are approached by entrepreneurs and each investor has to decide whether or not to invest with them.  So good!  When I was looking around YouTube the other day I was so surprised to see that Jodi with her Homebox Filing System was one of the guests.  It’s fun to watch and hear her story.  You can view it here if you are interested.

So in summing up here, I believe this box is intended to house the really important stuff and isn’t designed to replace your filing cabinet altogether.  Although I guess it could depending on how much paper you have.  Also I’m a tad concerned about the price at $40.00 US per box because I’m just not sure how affordable that is for the average person.  But it is well made and serves a great purpose of keeping all of your most important papers central in one location.  Just some things to consider.

I have another filing system that I want to share with you tomorrow but only if you aren’t sick of me talking about filing systems yet.   Good grief, who knew there’d be so much to say about them :)

A month ago I was flipping through my issue of Real Simple magazine, The Family Issue, and came across a great picture of a beautifully organized closet.  It was so lovely and colorful.  Check it out, although the colors aren’t quite as vibrant here, sorry:

Anyway what really stood out to me though was the two organizers hanging on the closet door.  I’d never seen those before and I was intrigued.  I immediately looked up where to find them, got on the internet and tracked them down.  They are from a Company called KangaRoom Storage and the organizers are called Corky Wall Organizers. Don’t they look fun!  I love finding new organizing sites, it makes me all tingly inside.

They retail for $29.99 and come in three different colors.  They also have one that is even bigger than this one.  I know for a fact that my daughter would love one of these to hold all her odds and sodds.  So many uses!

Also, with it being craft/sewing room month here on the blog I thought this other product I came across might appeal to all you knitters out there.  I thought it looked very fancy dancy and would make all your knitting dreams come true :)  It’s called the Knitter’s Notebook and it holds all different sized needles, including the impossible round ones!  (listen I don’t really know a round needle from a square one, that’s just what the website told me okay)  It also has room for your scissors and a zippered pouch for other small trinkets.  The 3-ring binder system lets you hole punch your patterns and keep them neatly in the binding system.

I can’t figure it out but all of a sudden I have a terrible urge to take up knitting….hmmm.

Who doesn’t read magazines and want to keep certain articles to refer back to? I’m pretty sure we all do that. Some rip out the pages and accumulate them somewhere for safe keeping and others keep the whole magazine. This can result in piles of magazines taking up valuable space in your home. So imagine how thrilled I was to come across the Scanalog, a product developed by a woman who experienced the same problem and wanted a system that would allow magazine clipping to go digital.

Well how do you like that? I posted recently about my love of the granny cart as my tool of choice for the transporting of the beach STUFF from my van to the beach. I really do love it! Well imagine my surprise to find that there is an actual product created specifically for this purpose. It looks very functional I must say. I heart functional, a lot! Functional = Friend although I’m not crazy about the $60.00 price tag (my granny cart was only $20.00) but I just can’t help admire any product that works to make our busy lives just a little bit easier. It’s called the Wonder Wheel Deluxe and it can be found at the Getorganized! site or at Leaps and Bounds.

In all the kitchen organizing going on out there I’ve noticed a few of you using this lovely little gadget for organizing your cans in your pantry. I thought I’d share it here today as a product highlight in case some of you haven’t heard about it. It looks like a great option for organizing all your cans especially if you don’t have pull out drawers in your cabinets. It’s called the Cansolidator. It accommodates different sizes of cans and it rotates which is just ever so convenient.

My new friend, Leigh Anne, purchased these at Costco not to long ago and used them in her pantry. You’ll have to go on over to her site (she has a wonderful blog and such a beautiful family!) to see how it looks. She did an awesome job pulling it all together. Leigh Anne tells me that the Cansolidator is about $10.00 cheaper at Costco then it is online. I’m not sure if these are available in Canada yet as I don’t live anywhere near a Costco (imagine!) so hopefully one of my Canadian friends will let us know in the comments.

Well for everyone school is well underway by now. Do your kids have somewhere to hang there backpacks everyday when they come home or does it seem like you are constantly tripping over them. Last year I posted about the backpack station we created by the front door to contain the kids packs in one place and up and off the floor. A central location works well for us, rather than the kids keeping them in their rooms, so I can routinely go through them and they are easily accessible as we are going out the door in the morning.While doing my web crawl the other day I found this product below which might be helpful for those of you who mentioned that wall space is an issue. It is a Back Pack Rack that fits on the back of a door. Very clever solution and an inexpensive one too at $4.99!Do you have a backpack station? What is it about it that you find most helpful?
