Um hello?  Is that a pom-pom?  Seriously I don’t make stuff…I’m no craft goddess.  What in the world?  A pom-pom…made by moi?  It can’t be!  It’s absurd and oh so highly addicting all at the same time.  I’m out of control!  What will it be next?  Hmmm, how about a banner and maybe some cupcake toppers?  Have mercy, isn’t anyone going to tell me to drop the scissors so no one gets hurt?  Yikes!

So we do the interview and a couple of minutes in she asks me if I can hear a snorting, growling sound on my end.  Well I assumed she was talking about the weed wacking going on in my neighborhood.  So I close my office door and think whew so glad we fixed that problem and on we carry. I don’t think anything more of the snorting, growling weed wacking noise and we have a great chit chat about all sorts of things going off topic here and there which if you know me in real life is how I roll.  It’s my short attention span, my inability to focus but Stephanie is a pro and kept roping me back in.  No easy task let me assure you.

Well a couple of days go by and Stephanie gets the video up and I hop on over to have a watch.  First I’m completely distracted by the bright light shining in on my head.  Seriously you guys I’m such a nerd when it comes to these things.  I thought you were supposed to have the window in front of you and well it turns out it’s suppose to be behind you (or maybe that’s not it either, I don’t know).  However it does camouflage the wrinkles nicely so let’s just pretend I did it on purpose, kay?

So I’m watching this video and thinking to myself, what in the world is that annoying sound?  It sounds like a pig, does Stephanie have a pig in the room?   It feels like it’s going to come through the computer and attack me, what the heck?  Then she asks ME what that noise is and me, being totally unaware that what she was hearing was ummm slightly different than what I was hearing, answers oh that is just some weed wacking going on.  Friends I don’t even know what to say, that was NO weed wacking!!  It’s the most bizarre thing ever, I could not stop laughing while I watched.  Who even knows what I said, this pig was out to get me and it was apparently a hungry little sucker.

I really don’t know how Stephanie kept such a straight face through it all.  She’s just awesome like that!  So if you’re looking for a little laugh today you’ve got to go over and check out the video, click on the green link below.  If you can get past the whole pig snorting, we do actually have a great conversation related to many things blog related and the fine art of saying NO.

Interview with Grace Brooke is a post from: I'm an Organizing Junkie

I had 10 minutes to talk to Peter Walsh today.   THE Peter Walsh, organizer guru and former host of the fantastic organizing show Clean Sweep.  I had 10 minutes to be all cool and suave and impressive.  Unfortunately it all sort of fell apart in the first 20 seconds when Peter Walsh said my name.  He said my name and I totally didn’t hear what he said after that because I was thinking OH MY GOSH PETER WALSH JUST SAID MY NAME.  Seriously if you didn’t know I was a dork before now, this will clearly cement it for you.

Peter said to me “you were part of the Back to School blogcast, is that right?”  And I said, are you ready for this?  I said “I am”.  I AM???   It took me a second to realize what he’d just said, and then what I’d said and that the two didn’t match and for me to get totally flustered and try to correct myself.  So much for suave and impressive.  Sheesh!

After all that I’m still going to put up this video because even though I’m a dork, Peter is clearly not and has some great answers to some of the questions I’m most commonly asked around here.

I am loving the looks of Peter’s new line of organizing products called You Organized.  I asked Peter if this line will be available in Canada and I’ve since found out that although it is not available in Canadian stores both the desk and console table are available for purchase on the Office Max site and they will ship to Canada.  Unfortunately I don’t see the bulletin board system online for sale yet which is what I would most definitely be interested in. You can find the modular command center pieces here.  I love that you can configure and rearrange the pieces of it to suit your needs.

Peter also has a new organizing DVD out that I was given to review and it is loaded with helpful, practical, easy to implement solutions.  I love Peter’s no nonsense style that seems to get to the heart of the matter quickly and efficiently.   As Peter takes you on a room by room tour he discusses numerous ways to streamline your systems in order to maximize space and reduce stress.  It’s really fantastic.  You can see a promo of it here.

Today though I’d like to give away a copy of Peter’s book that is specifically written for teens called It’s All Too Much, So Get It Together.  This easy to read book is designed to give teens the steps they need to keep what is necessary, purge what is not, and organize and prioritize everything in between.  Such a great book that is so encouraging and helpful and even though it’s written for teens it would really benefit just about anyone looking to have less junk, a clearer mind and a better life.

Hey gang, how is everyone?  I’m so glad you’re here, thanks for joining me and sharing your menu with everyone.

We just got home from a beautiful sunny weekend of camping which of course is the only way I’ll go because this princess girl doesn’t like to sleep in a soggy tent if it’s raining out.   Ahh the joys of tenting!  :)  Nothing beats hot dogs cooked over an open fire though.  Mmmmm.

So I don’t know if you remember but last week I pleaded asked for suggestions on casserole dishes that I could prepare for a friend.  Be sure to visit the comments on this post for so many great recipe ideas.  Thank you for helping me out.  The recipe I decided to use is called Chicken Macaroni Bake and it came from the fabulous site Once a Month Mom.  Gosh if you are looking for a great selection of freezer meal recipes be sure to check them out.  I doubled the recipe to make two nice size round take out dishes full which they could decide to have one or both at a time depending on how many people they were feeding on a particular night.

Okay so most of you must know by now how passionate I am about menu planning and how I’m on a mission to really encourage everyone to give it a try at least once.  I say at least once because I’m convinced it will only take that long for you to realize the many benefits to it.   Anytime someone wants to talk to me about menu planning I jump at the opportunity.  This week I did a podcast with the lovely Cara from The Household Helper blog.  We had such fun chatting away about menu planning.  If you’d like to have a listen you can do so here.

Last week’s recipe highlight definitely goes to the Enchilada Casserole.  Oh wow was this ever delicious and definitely a new family favorite for sure due to how simple and easy it was to make!

Monday: Mexican-Style Ravioli (missed from last week)

Tuesday: Grilled sausages served with Hawaiian Salad

Wednesday: Slow Cooker Maui Chicken (I might be missing my girlfriend from Hawaii what do you think? lol)

Thursday: Leftover buffet

Friday: Teriyaki Sirloin Steak served with baked potatoes and grilled veggies

Saturday: Grilled Portobello and Sun-Dried Tomato Sandwich with Garlic Herb Mayonnaise
