Fun New Organizing Products In Store Now

Hi everyone, this week I’ve added two new organizing products to my shop (with another to come on Monday) so I thought I’d give you a quick sneak peek. For more specifics about each of the products and what I love about each of them, click on any of pictures below to be taken to the individual shop page.

First I’m introducing the stocking organizer, a smaller version of the shoe organizer.  It is shown with socks/pantyhose but of course as with most of my products it can be used for so many other things as well like toys, makeup, sunglasses, etc.  The possibilities are endless!  You’ll find two big pockets on the backside for more storage.  On sale right now – set of 2 for $15.00!

Next is the RevMed, a revolving organizer that has been designed to help you organize your medications and vitamins. It offers two levels and space dividers to help keep things separated and easy to find. It is sized to fit in standard cabinets, revolves for easy access and is tiered for label visibility.  On sale right now for a short time for $15.00.

I use mine to organize all my hair supplies:

Next is something I’m so excited about.  This product is my first EXCLUSIVE product, yay!  You may remember me talking about a fantastic product for toy storage called the Lay N Go Activity Mat. Well this same fabulous company has created a product just for my readers to help us contain all our makeup that seems to collect all over our bathroom counters. Wouldn’t you love a quick and easy way to clean it all up? Allow me to introduce the Lay N Go Cosmo, the perfect solution for makeup explosions.

Simply put all your makeup on the mat when it’s open and when done pull on the drawstring and you end up with a makeup pouch that contains everything for you until the next time you need it. I think this is such a clever idea. No more having to riffle through a cosmetic bag as the Lay N Go Cosmo opens right up and lays flat so you can find what you need right away. No digging involved. And once the pouch is all cinched up your makeup is beautifully hidden away and not scattered all over your bathroom counter in a cluttered mess. It’s also perfect for traveling. Now that’s awesome!  For more details and to purchase this product visit my shop!  On sale for $24.00 for the next two days.

Happy Organizing!!

PS: Just a reminder that Opensky only ships to US addresses at this time.

4 Inexpensive Ways to Organize Scarves

I love scarves.  I love the way they dress up an outfit at a fairly inexpensive price.  However with many scarves comes the need for some great organization so that I don’t find them scattered all over the house.  They need a designated home so the one I want can easily be found on any given day.  Of course not all solutions need to be expensive ones, here are four great ways to organize scarves without breaking the bank.

1.  Using Towel Rods:

My girlfriend hung towel rods behind her bedroom door and then hung her scarves off them.   I love this idea and as you can see it also works great for jewelry too.

2.  In a Basket:

Depending on how many scarves you have you might be able to get away with just tossing them in a basket.  Simple!

3.  On a Hanger:

Using shower curtain rings (from the dollar store) on a hanger I was able to add my scarves in such a way that they take up next to no room at all in my closet.  Very simple and easy to do and as you can see I could really get many more on there.  This is probably my favorite solution of them all.

All I’ve done is loop them through the rings.

4.  With a Scarf Organizer:

This scarf organizer I purchased from Solutions (a Canadian organizing store) for $6.99 if I remember correctly.  Ikea sells a similar one as well although it is bigger and available for $9.99.  I blogged about it here.

As you can see it holds quite a few scarves but because they overlap one another it does get a little bulky.

So there you have it.  Scarves, scarves and more scarves.  Which solution is your favorite?

Transforming a Closet with Canvas Bins

Please welcome my guest today, Julie from Simply Savvy!

I am so thrilled to be sharing with Org Junkie’s savvy readers and one of my favorite organizing blogs! Many thanks and be sure to see what else is on my mind at Simply Savvy.

As a Professional Organizer I have the fun task of shopping for clients and purchasing organizing and designing solutions that meet their unique needs. While shopping with a loaded cart, I am often asked if I have a favorite product or one that I would recommend. I could go on and on about good organizing solutions—no one solution works for everyone. However, one of my favorite items to use is canvas grommet style bins—functional, flexible, and stylish.

They work great in a laundry room, under the sink, on a playroom shelf, and in any type of closet.

Here’s how I quickly transform a space using bins:

1- Start by removing all items so you can see what you have and purge what you don’t need.

2- Reorganize items according to purpose, category, or function.

3- Label each bin clearly for easy access.

Take a look at this transformed bathroom closet.

I chose the chocolate brown bins to go with the sleek look of the espresso cabinet. I grouped like items together; such as, hair products, accessories, toiletries and then utilized shallow bins for wash cloths.

This busy working mom can now access her items quickly and feel good while doing so! Now that’s Simply Savvy.

Are you spring cleaning? What areas are you struggling with? Share your thoughts, I love sharing back!

As a Professional Organizer and owner of Simply Savvy LLC, I work with clients to create organizing and design solutions that allow them to love their spaces. The Simply Savvy blog is where I get to share what inspires me in the hopes of helping others along the way — it’s all things organizing, design, or just things I find that are Simply Savvy!

Menu Plan Monday ~ April 16/12

Hi friends, did you have an organized menu week last week?  Having a menu plan really is a game changer isn’t it?  Gosh I don’t know how I ever managed without one and I know I am not alone in thinking that.  And yet there are still so many that have never given menu planning a go.  Perhaps this is your week!  What will it take for me to convince you?  :)

I took a photography course this weekend and am so excited to finally know how to shot in manual mode.  I can’t wait to play around and practice some more this week and I suspect my family may get annoyed with me as I make them wait “just one more minute” for dinner so I can take just one more picture of it.  Ha!  Maybe I should start with my containers and have a photoshoot with them.  They would never complain to me, they love me and are so happy with me when I take them out to play :)

So here’s my question for you today.  I absolutely LOVE casseroles…I love to make them and I love to eat them.  One dish meals are so easy to throw together and usually mean fewer dishes to clean up as well.   They are great to throw in the freezer and for potlucks too.  However I have a girlfriend who can’t stand them.  She hates having her food all mixed up together.  How about you?  Love em or hate em?

I’ve added a few new links to my menu planning Pinterest board so be sure to check it out for some great ideas!

Also today is the last day to enter win two sets of Oliver’s Labels.  Don’t miss it!

Have a great week everyone!

My Weekly Menu:

Monday:  Sisters Pesto Panini Sandwich

Tuesday:  Baked Parmesan Spaghetti

Wednesday:  Honey Garlic Chicken served with rice and broccoli

Thursday:  Leftover buffet

Friday:  Fuss-Free Ravioli and Cheese Bake (family favorite!)

Saturday:  Corn Sausage Chowder

Sunday:  YOYO (you’re on your own)

WHAT’S ON YOUR MENU THIS WEEK?
