Hey beautiful people, how are you? I just checked when I put up my last Friday Favorites post and it was May y’all. MAY!? What is that all about? That’s so sad because I love doing these posts but the summer just got away from me I guess. But I’m jumping back in with two feet. I hope you love reading them as much as I love writing them otherwise that would be weird if the whole time you were thinking “stop, please stop”. You should definitely let me know if that is the case cause I’m here to please 🙂
Fall:
So first of all in many parts of the world what I did last weekend is totally jumping the gun. But here in my northern Canada part of the world, decorating for fall needs to happen now. Why? Because it almost always snows in October here and then it’s winter, blah. In fact the town just two hours west of me has had snow already so I know it’s coming sooner rather than later! I am so not a fan of winter but I sure love fall, I just wish there was more of it than one measly month. So I put out a few fall decorations and will enjoy them as much as I can before our six months of winter sets in. Here’s a few pictures.
My three tiered stand is from Canadian Tire.
I got this sign in my kitchen from the dollar tree.
Television:
Want to know something else shocking? I’m so not a fan of Netflix, gasp, I know! Does anyone else find the organization of their home screen not so easy to manage? It makes me crazy! Aside from that flaw though I just can never find anything that looks good to me. I like family dramas, similar to This is Us which I love, love love, but everything I tried on Netflix wasn’t capturing my attention. So the other day, while procrastinating from my life, I did another search and found Switched at Birth. I’ve never heard of this show before and it’s an older one by the looks of it. So far I’m only 6 episodes in but really enjoying it so far. Has anyone else watched this one? Thoughts on it? Recommendations?
Books:
I recently read Class Mom by Laurie Gelman (affiliate link) and rated it a four stars on my Goodreads app which is pretty darn good considering everything else I’ve been reading lately is a two it seems. Have I told you lately how picky I am? True story. Anyway aren’t you glad I gave your the name of the book rather than just say “this book” with a link to Amazon that you have to click on just to see what I read. Golly I dislike when bloggers do that. I mean I get why they do it (for the $$) but it’s kind of shady if you ask me.
I first heard of Laurie’s book on Kelly and Ryan (how much better is this show now with Ryan!) because Laurie’s husband runs the show and they talked about it one day. The writing is fast, smart and full of humor. Totally enjoyed it!
Products:
Okay this product is AMAZING, click “here” to find out what it is. Just kidding, I wouldn’t do that to you, just wanted to see if you were paying attention. The product is called Erase Your Face (affiliate link) and they are a reuseable makeup removing cleaning cloth that is water activated. No other makeup remover required even for waterproof mascara.
Seriously it’s pretty incredible and I love how my face feels so squeaky clean afterwards. Highly, highly recommend! Totally know what I’m getting my girlfriends for Christmas this year but shhh don’t tell them.

I love Switched at Birth! My daughter and I have watched all of the episodes. It’s really fun for us because I’m fluent in sign language and she’s taken a couple of years of it.

If you like This is Us then you should check out Parenthood and Gilmore Girls. I am not positive if Parenthood is still on Netflix. One of my favorite shows and This is Us reminds me Parenthood

LOVE Switched At Birth! It gave me a greater appreciation and understanding of the challenges people in the deaf community face and all the resources they have to overcome those challenges. There are some very tear-jerker-ish episodes, and some episodes where you just wanna slap some of the main characters (LOL!), but the story overall is so wonderful, and watching the characters grow and progress throughout the series is amazing.
