The following is a guest post about organizing with trays from regular contributor, Yuni at Love Your Abode.
One of my favorite organizing methods is using trays. There are so many decorative uses for trays but they are also great for organizing all kinds of things around the home.
I recently shared a post on how to style bookshelves and one of those tips was using trays. For our guest room, I placed a simple white tray on the shelf to hold toiletry essentials like cotton balls, lotion and q-tips. Grouping like items together on a tray keeps them looking chic and tidy.
I also placed extra towels and blankets in another woven basket tray on the shelf. Guests are free to use whatever they want with ease.
On our kitchen island, a white tray holds some canisters, a butter dish and a faux plant. Inside those pretty white canisters are lots of children’s vitamins and probiotics. It keeps my island from looking like a pharmacy and I love how they’re concealed by the pretty canisters. Originally, I thought it may be a hassle getting into them every day but so far, it hasn’t been a nuisance. The kids know how to retrieve their vitamins daily and it teaches them to put them away when they’re done.
A thin metal tray on the counter is used to corral all of our mugs near our coffee and tea station. This easily allows family and guests to help themselves whenever they please. A sign and candle add some style to this small functional spot.
My office table has an acrylic tray to hold a family photo, plant and some of my pens and scissors.
Our coffee bench in the family room keeps our remotes and coasters in one area by gathering them together on a simple rustic tray.
Trays are also a great way to hold kids’ crafting supplies like markers, crayons and glue. Kids can learn to place them back in the appropriate container and the tray can be moved to any space in the house.
I hope these ideas were helpful in seeing how trays can be utilized around the home. Bathrooms are another perfect place to use trays in corralling like items together and keeping them organized. Thank you for reading and good luck to organizing!

Oh Yuni, you have such a gift for making things look pretty and organised 🙂
I love your guest room set up… and you gave me a great idea for my kitchen because our vitamins is in a plastic container – functional but not at all pretty!

Marcia, you are too sweet. Thank you so much. Yes, I’m so glad I finally put those vitamins in a closed container. Such a minor thing but it really makes me happier! Have a great weekend!

Hi Yuni, I like what you did with the vitamins. I will try that too. The “adult” vitamins go into a drawer to keep them off from being noticed but sometimes the children tend to leave theirs’ around so maybe, I will try the same way you did. Thanks for the tip!

Hi Cindy! I’m so glad you found the tip helpful. I love keeping them hidden but still easily accessible. Hope you had a great weekend!
