Can you believe there are only 3 and a half weeks left before Christmas. Are you ready?
As you know my husband doesn’t like us to decorate for Christmas until December 1st. It drives me crazy though because I like to have everything done before December so I can just relax and enjoy the holidays to the fullest. So we came to a compromise and I officially starting decorating Nov 29th, whoot! All that’s left is to put up a tree (we do a real one) which we will go out and get on Saturday. It will be nice this year not to be doing everything all in one day, that’s too exhausting for me.
Here is a list of all the tasks we’ve checked off so far:
Task #1: Set up gift planner app and budget
Task #2: Find and organize gift storage space
Task #3: Set up a holiday planner
Task #4: Giftster Wish List app
Task #5: Christmas cards
Task #6: Organizing and cleaning
Task #7: Gift Wrap Supplies & Organization
Assignment #8: Decorating the House
So this week is all about getting the house decked out as you see fit. If it’s stressing you out, then less is okay. I only decorate my living room and dining room areas as that’s about all I can manage. Do what works for you and let go of the rest. As you pull out your decorations, go through and weed out the items that are broken or that you no longer love and use. And don’t hold on to anything out of guilt, just keep the things that make you smile when you pull them out of the box.
This Week’s To Do List
Pull out your decorations:
Haul out your boxes and bins and start unpacking them. Purge items not used or loved.
Decorate:
- Surfaces (mantel, hutches, coffee tables)
- Garland (doors, stairs)
- Lights (inside, outside)
- Christmas tree (stand, skirt, decorations)
- Linens (tablecloths, placemats, napkins, kitchen towels)
- Dinnerware
- Candles
- Wreaths
- Banners
- Stockings
- Christmas music
- anything else
