Hi everyone! My youngest kiddo is turning 10 this weekend and boy is he excited about it. We do birthdays big around here. I’m not one that normally caters to every whim of my kids but on their birthdays we go all out! And he’s got the meals he wants all picked out. French toast for breakfast, pancakes for lunch and for dinner he’s picked out recipes from his favorite Food Network TV show, The Pioneer Woman. He never misses an episode, it’s so cute how much he likes it. I think we’ll definitely need to buy him her latest dinnertime cookbook (affiliate link), he would be SO HAPPY about it.

Happy birthday to your son! We like to do big birthday celebrations, too. It doesn’t take a lot of effort to make kids feels special on their big day. 🙂

I’m not used to making three meals a day (kids make their own breakfasts and lunches usually) but he sure appreciates it when I do 🙂

Happy Birthday to your little guy! We always centered birthday celebrations around our favorite food growing up – it’s a great way to celebrate! 🙂
Laura Wittmann says
It really is. I always give my kids the option of eating out or eating at home on their birthdays but most often they choose eating at home 🙂

Aww, a HUUUUGE Happy Birthday to your son!! I love that birthdays are a big deal in your house. Growing up, my mom was the same way with my sister and I She started our day by opening up our bedroom blinds while singing happy birthday with a huge smile on her face. She always chose a great gift for us, something we knew we would love, and we got to choose whatever dinner we were craving. We could either go out or she would make our favorite. My mom makes the best french onion soup, and I would usually request that – at the end of July! But birthdays were big, and I carry those wonderful memories in my heart.
And I LOVE the fact that your son loves the Pioneer Woman! She’s one of my favorites too! =)
Thanks for your recipes!
Best,
Robin

Yes I really do try to make it extra special. I don’t use the word no, so whatever they want I provide. I’m usually so exhausted by the end of the day lol.
