Happy Friday! So I’m in a tizzy. I’ve gone and done something that RARELY, if ever, happens to me. I’ve lost something that I cannot find and it’s making me crazy. I was holding a key for a friend and when she asked for it back, I looked where I knew I had put it and it was no longer there. And I couldn’t find it anywhere. I searched high and low with no luck. I am baffled because this happens so infrequently in my life. I have a home for everything so things are easily found. Except this time. I did eventually figure out where it was but unfortunately it is still lost. You see I bought a new purse from Walmart the other day and before taking the tags off I like to fill it to see if it will hold my Purse Perfector and any other purse contents I like to have on hand. So I moved everything over, tried it out around the house and realized it wasn’t for me.
So I returned it.
With, I’m pretty sure, the key in it.
Yep I’m bright like that.
I of course went back to Walmart but the key was sadly no where to be found.
I feel awful about it. The moral of this story is clearly don’t give me anything to hold onto. Ha! When I think about how much time I spent searching for this key and the stress it’s caused, it makes me feel sick. And it reminds me that people do this to themselves every single day. Gulp. It doesn’t have to be that way. And while I’m glad this isn’t the norm for me, I am happy for the reminder of what it feels like every once and awhile. It has fueled my passionate for helping people here learn to live with less chaos and stress in their lives.
Cause ain’t nobody got time for searching for lost stuff.
So this weekend may I challenge you to think about one item in your home you are constantly searching for and to figure out a permanent “home” for it. Then all it takes is a repetitive discipline of putting that item back there after every time you use it. Piece of cake right? 🙂 In the long run you will save yourself so much frustration and time, stress and chaos. But just remember if you buy a purse, don’t return it without first checking the pockets. Just saying.

I feel it along with you – I am also like that woman in the Bible who turns the house upside down if anything is lost!
So sorry
