Hi friends, happy Friday to you!! I forgot to tell you last week my most exciting news of all. How many of you remember this post I wrote last year saying how my goal in life was to go on a trip with only a carry-on bag. The idea of it intimidated me because I like to be prepared for ALL THE THINGS. But guess what? When I flew to Ontario for a week recently, I did it!! I didn’t check any bags and it felt amazing!! I know many of you probably already do this but for this girl who is scared of not having all the comforts of home, this was a really big step for me. Now I’ll be perfectly honest, I was traveling with my two boys and their luggage may or may not have had a few of my things but for the most part I did okay. I didn’t miss or long for anything I didn’t bring and how cool is it to get off the plane and just walk straight out of the airport. So happy! The only problem is the many many people that don’t follow the specific measurements for carry-on baggage and hog all the storage space above the seats. One guy carried on a HUGE stuffed dinosaur and it took up a whole bin. Seriously!
Weekend Organizing Project:
So this weekend I’m working on my bulging recipe files. They are a bit out of control. I keep my most often used recipes in files handy in my kitchen command center and you can read more about that HERE if you want. I think I need a few more files to create better division to help me quickly find the recipe I need.
What organizing project will you be working on this weekend?

Just read your (original) post about your carry-on dreams, and glad you were able to accomplish it! For me, the biggest problem I have when travelling is bottle size (and not being able to have larger bottles in your carry-on). While I have my little travelling pouch that contains all my toiletry essentials, I simply have not been able to find tiny bottles of sunscreen (I have red hair and am very pale!)… and I often bring a few bottles if I know I’m going somewhere sunny.

I had the same problem with hairspray. One tiny hairspray bottle doesn’t last this girl long. Had to buy some more when I got there lol.
