Hello! Well it’s winter here in northern Alberta, Canada y’all. It snowed yesterday and we are getting temps in the negatives now so I think it’s safe to say it’s here to stay for awhile. And by awhile I mean at least 6 months. Ugg. I really am not a snow person but call me crazy I really don’t mind the cold temps. And let me tell you it gets pretty cold here. There were many a days that I shared pictures similar to this one below on Instagram last year.
Yep -40 degrees Celcius is where Fahrenheit and Celcius meet and are the same just to give you an idea of how cold that really is! But I love sweaters and puffy coats with fur lined hoods, I love fireplaces and snuggling and comfort foods that warm you up and keep the chill out. Trust me I’d still rather be on the beaches of Florida any day of the week (you have no idea how envious I am of all you folks!) but I’m making the most of it. This week I’ve put some soup on the menu and will cozy in. What do you love most about winter?
Recipe Highlight:
Speaking of comfort food, did you all catch this recipe below, for Chocolate Chip Walnut Banana Bread, that Melanie shared here last week on the blog? It looks so delicious!

Oh my goodness…that is some serious cold! I am from California, but moved to Maryland several years ago and am just getting used to the cold here. I think the coldest I’ve felt is about 2 degrees, but that was with the “polar vortex” last year…usually it only gets to about 20 degrees here. I can’t imagine negative 20!

I’m pretty sure my favorite part of winter is when it’s over. Ha! Three Kentucky winters were enough for me. I did get to where I could deal a little better with the cold weather but I never liked it. I think the coldest we ever saw was -7. I can’t imagine it being colder. Stay warm and have a great week!
