The following is a guest post from regular contributor, Kalyn at Creative Savings.
When my husband and I moved into our new home, we made a pact that we were not going to let clutter take over our lives. Everything needed to be organized and in it’s proper place as much as possible, especially now that we have sufficient space to do so!
While unpacking the bathroom, I knew I wanted to keep the countertops clear as much as possible, and although we had enough shelf space under the sink to keep our supplies, it just wasn’t convenient to continually pull everything out.
So I put into practice the “only product you really need to organize” mentality and found two amazingly cute and simple baskets on sale at Target. Can I just say I love that store!?
These were the perfect size to divide our toiletries between what was his and what was mine, but of course, I had to go spruce them up with a couple pretty labels. It was the perfect excuse to dig into my paper scrap stash, and only took 10 minutes – literally! It’s super easy too.
Supplies Needed:
- Letter stickers, stamps, or rub-ons
- Scrapbook paper
- Laminate pouches
- Glue
- Paper cutter
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Jute, ribbon, or twine
The Project:
Step 1: Grab your letter stickers, stamps, or rub-ons {I used Heidi Grace Designs, which you can find in your local craft store.} Carefully put your letters on light paper so they are easily readable.
Step 2: Choose coordinating paper to match your bathroom color scheme, or go neutral if you don’t know what you’re bathroom will look like yet and don’t want to commit to color, like me!
Step 3: Cut out words with regular or special design scissors. I personally like using the latter to give it more of a feminine feel.
Step 4: Attach to coordinating paper with glue and cut with paper cutter so an even border surrounds all edges.
Step 5: Place paper labels inside a laminating pouch and carefully smooth over the top.
Step 6: Cut out around edges of pouch, making sure to leave enough room so you don’t disrupt the seal. Then punch a hole in the top left-hand corner of your labels.
Step 7: Use twine, ribbon, or jute to attach labels to the baskets, and tie in a bow to secure. You’re done!
Don’t these cuties look fabulous? It’s really hard to take good pictures in a bathroom without any windows, but here’s a look at how these bathroom organizers fit perfectly in our space.
I smile every time I open our under-cabinet doors, while Joseph says he would have never known which basket was his otherwise. Ha!
Now, I just have to figure out how I’m going to decorate and organize the rest of the bathroom!
How do you organize your
toiletries?

I love how you made the organization both functional and decorative! There is nothing like a newly organized space to make me smile, too. Thanks for sharing!

This is PERFECT! I JUST moved and have a VERY small bathroom space…we are going to put up shelves and this will be FABULOUS to have on those shelves with all our STUFF that we don’t want spilling out…I might even make one for my 8 year old…He can help personalize it. 🙂 Thanks much!

I need this for my fiance, me and our kids! I could have the kids add stickers and fun things to the outside of it to add their personal touch. Thanks for sharing this!

I do this for everyone in family. when I get ready in the morning I just pull out my caddy and everything is in it. use the stuff and then just put in all back in caddy and back in a drawer. keeps the counter clear of clutter. no room in bathroom? everyone just stores their caddy in their bedroom and brings it with them to the bathroom and then takes it back to their room after using it. this is one of the best organizing tricks I have ever used.
