The following is a guest post from regular contributor, Sharon at Mom of 6.
The closet in my daughters’ room has a wonderful set of shelving units that holds all of their current-season folded clothes on one side, and then a hanging bar on the other to hold skirts and dresses. Underneath the hanging bar, I added another shelving unit created from a DIY black grid “kit”, that holds fabric bins where my girls keep their socks, underwear, and other accessories. While it’s true that this black grid system is not necessarily the most efficient use of the space (clearly I could fit 4 bins across if the unit had smaller cubbies), I already own the grid system- so it’s a free solution (which always wins in my book!)
And who in their right mind would willingly give up shelves?
And of course, I had to add labels to my bins…. which I showed you how to do in PicMonkey using this tutorial!

It worked for you and that’s a plus for you. You can maybe use that shelf somewhere else in your house? I use sterlite containers in my closet as well for various purposes. Christmas ornaments, wrapping paper, sacks, tissue paper and ribbon. Thanks for sharing.

I definitely saved the shelf…. not sure if/when I’ll use it, but you never know! Thanks Becky!
