Welcome back to another week of Menu Plan Monday! It’s a Happy Canada Day for all us Canadian folks. So that means it’s a day of relaxation and fun around here. Groceries are going to just have to wait until Tuesday 🙂
And a happy July 4th later this week to my US friends 🙂
Also I just want to say thank you to everyone who left birthday wishes for me on last week’s post. That was so nice of you. I had a really really lovely day and was super sad to see it come to an end.
A couple of weeks ago some of you might remember I had my very first Starbucks coffee drink (and my very first coffee for that matter) and have been craving another Frappuccino ever since. The only problem is the closest Starbucks to me is two hours away from where I live. So I decided to figure out how to make my own. Here is my recipe and it is so delicious, not to mention way less expensive!! Yum!
Also for those that might have missed it, my friend Angie posted a fantastic looking recipe for Shrimp Cucumber Appetizers earlier this week. Check these gluten free babies out.
Taste of Home Giveaway:
I picked up this Taste of Home soft cover cookbook the other day at Walmart and it is so great.
As you can see from my menu plan this week, in the summer I use my slow cooker a lot to avoid heating up my house. I went back and grabbed another copy to giveaway to one of YOU. I will draw a name at random on Saturday, July 6th from the list of those that link up a menu plan this week (no comment required). Just my way of saying thank you to all of you who link up here each week. You are awesome and organized 🙂
My Weekly Menu Plan:
Monday: Burgers and fries
Tuesday: Slow Cooker Chicken Caesar Sandwiches served with spinach salad
Wednesday: Slow Cooker Asian Pork Tenderloin served with rice and broccoli
Thursday: Leftover buffet
Friday: Sausage & Pepper Pasta
Saturday: Slow Cooker Lasagna
Sunday: Picking night!!

Yummy! Funny because I always think- yay winter is over time to put away the crockpot and then before you know it I realize that the crockpot is used for a different reason in the summer- to keep the kitchen cool. Thanks for the party! I love seeing all the menus!

It’s been extremely hot in Las Vegas so it’s sandwiches, salads and slow cooker for the next few weeks.
Have a wonderful holiday.

HAPPY CANADA DAY ! I am wearing my souvenir Canada Day Festival T-shirt today here in sunny Georgia!! I get funny looks when I wear it…I proudly wear it to remind me how the Canadians celebrate the day in style up in Ottawa, as we were there in 2010 and had a grand time!!
Have a great day, Laura!

Happy belated birthday, Laura! Glad to hear you had a good day. 🙂
I need to learn to be like you and use my slow cooker more often in the summer – I do tend to think its a winter kind of thing, too – but the idea of not heating the kitchen is so nice! And since it’s 94 degrees here today, I better get on that. 😉
