Yay it’s time to debut out new winter banner!! Isn’t it fun!
I’m so excited to finally move past Thanksgiving just so I don’t have to see another pumpkin recipe around…lol! I’m totally going to admit it, I really don’t like pumpkin! And there are just so many recipes everywhere. Boy it feels so good to get that off my chest but please don’t hurt me for saying so 🙂 I really can’t be the only one though, come on fess up, who else is not a lover of the pumpkin???? Anyone? Anyone?
So yesterday was the big Pokemon extravaganza party for my son’s 7th birthday! A good time was had by all…I may have been slightly twitching by the end of it but I survived!!
Pokemon Bingo (free printables from here)
Pokemon Bean Bag Toss made by my husband. This was a huge hit with the kids!
Menu Plan Resource On Sale Today:
Today I wanted to tell you about a great Cyber Monday sale going on with one of my very favorite menu planning resources. Plan to Eat is an excellent site that assists you with setting up your menu plan each week. It’s not a service that assigns recipes for you (you can find many of those type listed here) but it does make it super easy for you to plan your own menu and it just keeps getting better and better. I am so picky about anything technical because if it’s too complicated well you can just count me out but this site is so easy to use (seriously!) and the nice part is that everything is all in one place. Some of the awesome features include:
- Drag and drop menu planning – easily drag recipes from your recipe book to create your personalized menu plan with space for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Save your current meal plan for future use.
- Recipe Book – one of my favorite features because you can import recipe links from other sites without having to type in the entire recipe. It even imports the picture! So brilliant!!
- Shopping List – your shopping list is created based on the recipes on your planner, and similar ingredients are automatically combined to save you time. And the more you use your list, the smarter it will get. Share and print your shopping list.
- Mobile Grocery Assistant – simplify your grocery shopping with the Plan to Eat mobile site. Use it to access your recipes and shopping list from your smartphone and check off items as you go. No more pen and paper needed!
Today is the last day to purchase a yearly subscription at 50% off. Don’t miss out on this really great deal by clicking on the button below for more information and to purchase.
Have a great week everyone!!

Love the Pokemon Party! Your menu looks great, too!
SnoWhite @ Finding Joy in My Kitchen says
My husband is allergic to pumpkin, so he doesn’t like it either 🙂 We use sweet potatoes instead — tastes better than pumpkin, in my opinion, and the flavor is more subtle. But, regardless, I am ready for winter foods too. Your menu looks great; thank for hosting each week.

Good Morning Laura,
I too am glad to move past the “Pumpkin Fest 2012”. Have a great week and thanks for hosting!

Happy Cyber Monday! I am excited because I joined in two weeks in a row 🙂 I love your menu plan that is leftover buffet. Have a terrific week!
Janet @ Frugal & Focused says
I actually love pumpkin but know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Many of my family members don’t care for it. Great job on the party!

I love the Pokeball centerpiece on your table! I tried to make a cake that looked like that the year my older son was into Pokemon. It was not exactly a success. I love pumpkin but my husband is “not a fan” of it either. Thanks for hosting Menu Plan Monday!

I love pumpkin, but I don’t want it in everything! Pie, yes. Latte, no.
Jami @ An Oregon Cottage says
Oh, Laura, I’m SO happy to find someone else who doesn’t like pumpkin! I can detect that flavor in anything – yuck. 🙂 And I seriously cannot believe the amount of pumpkin recipes over the last couple of months – it seems quite excessive this year. I can’t remember an ingredient that has gotten so much single-minded attention – truly a “pumpkin fest” as Miz Helen commented above.
Gee, I guess I needed to get that off my chest, too. 🙂 Anyway – your party looks great and makes me remember how into Pokemon my son was at that age – and he’s 20 now, so they’ve been around awhile, lol.
Becki says
I’m not a pumpkin fan either. Yay for candy cane season!!

Birthday parties are so much fun! My sons birthday is coming up and I can’t to celebrate with him!
The winter banner is lovely also! Thanks for hosting a place for us all to share our menus! 🙂

I love the Pokemon Bingo – so cute! Looks like it was a fabulous party 🙂

I detest pumpkin! Nice to hear that someone else isn’t a fan either. 🙂 I am so glad pumpkin season is over and the abundance of pumpkin-related recipes! Bring on Christmas baking!

Add coffee creamer to some of your baked goods to add extra flavor.
Lisa @ CheapThrillsInOmaha says
LOVING the Pokemon ideas! Wish I had those about 10 years ago…. Also loving the turkey ravioli casserole. *ding!* Idea for next week.
Kelly @ Dysfunctionally Functional says
The Creamy Pasta sounds so, so, so good! I’ve got an addiction to creamy pasta dishes. Not so great for my hips or thighs, but they’re so yummy!! The Turkey Ravioli Lasagna looks good, too. But the kids and I aren’t fans of cheese ravioli, so we’d have to make a substitution there…hmm…sounds like a project for next week!
So happy to be back after a looooooong hiatus!

The pokemon party looks fantastic! I have a soon to be 7 year old pokemon fan here as well. He would love the bingo! Thanks for the link. BTW – I love the new winter banner!
