On my recent trip to the US I was hoping that somehow I was going to get to go to Target. I wasn’t sure how it was going to happen but I was really hoping it would! You see us deprived Canadians don’t have Target stores here although they are coming to my area of Western Canada in 2013.
So on my first morning in Pennsylvania I happened to see on Facebook that someone else from conference was making a Target run and asking if anyone wanted to come along. Umm yes please!! How nice of a perfect stranger to take me with her. I was so happy and it definitely didn’t take us long to bond over all things sale like starting with the dollar bins as you walk in the front door.
I quickly made my way to the organizing aisles. I was intrigued to see if there would be any different organizing products that perhaps I’ve never seen before. That I could drool over and tell you all about.
I wasn’t let down. Gosh was it ever fun! I took some pictures with my iPhone that I thought you might like to see. Thank goodness I didn’t have much extra space in my luggage or I might have been in big trouble trying to bring it all home with me 🙂
You know how much I love cubby storage so when I saw these more “grown up” fabric bins, I got very excited. They were very nice and wouldn’t necessarily have to be delegated to a playroom.
Then I went around the corner and faced the WALL of 3M Command products. Oh my goodess what a selection. I wasn’t thrilled to see so many empty spaces though but that didn’t stop me from picking up some items to add to my collection at home (and yes I have quite the collection!). Love these!!
Then I stumbled across some more cubbies that I’ve never seen before. These ones are designed for the younger crowd by Circo. And while I don’t have little ones that these would be suitable for, I sure wanted to take some of them home with me anyway just because the entire collection is the cutest thing EVER!!
Seriously, take a closer look at the bins. Adorable! I can’t even begin to tell you how fantastic it is that you can see through to what is inside. Brilliant for little ones!
How cute is this monkey???? Fun, fun, fun! What kid wouldn’t want to put his toys away into something so cute? Ha!
Finally the last thing that was new to me were these Lego storage drawer units. These would be terrific for any Lego enthusiast. The top is a play surface. Love!!
Oh and even though the I didn’t take a picture, the stationery/planner/calendar aisle was out of this world!
So much selection! Such great prices!! Hurry up Target and come to Canada!!
Anyone else love Target as much as I do? Or maybe it gets old after awhile?
Has anyone purchased any of these organizing solutions I mentioned? Send me a picture!!

Glad you got to go! I sure loved the Canadian Oreos too!!

I <3 Target. It's my happy place. Did you see the dollar bins in the front of the store? I like to see what's there when I go in. I found a nice bin and some fall decor on one of my last trips.

I live near Vancouver BC and I can’t wait for Target to get here. Supposedly in Spring 2013. Those animal bins are so cute. I need two of the lego organizers too. I don’t think Target will ever get old for me 🙂 love it so!
Laura's mom Cathy says
Laura you realize we have a Target opening here – right beside your favorite thrift store. You will definitely have to come for a visit.

I am a Target addict. I go multiple times a week. It is a “good” week if I can stay away and only go once. There is one right across the street from where I work and I am there all the time. I do most of my grocery shopping at Target so that is my excuse… “You see, I HAD to go to Target today because we needed some carrots and potatoes for dinner tonight. Oh…and don’t mind the other $50 I spent while roaming the aisles.”
Deb@asimplelifequilts says
Target is a wonderful place. I always find more than I need there and always cruise through the organization section to see what’s new!
Courtney says
Oh no, Target NEVER EVER gets old. :<)
Brenda says
I agree….it never gets old….I LOVE Target…
Kristina Burke says
No… it does not get old! We love the 3m products. We have these little tiny clip ones that we use to hang lights inside… we put a bunch up for halloween and even after we took the light strands down, the clips will stay up to be used for Christmas (we can’t put nails in our walls!) I also have one of the big slide on hooks holding a Thanksgiving sign on my door right now. And we use the regular strips to hang pictures and anything else on our walls, since we can’t use nails. I have a few of those bins… I need more… but we don’t have space for them currently. We looooove the dollar bins too… They always have cute little decorations for the holidays and we buy a few and then after the holiday raid them for the next year.

I love target and their clearance sections!! Good thing there’s one about 5 minutes away. So glad you’re going to get one relatively soon!
Pam says
We love Target! Honestly that front section of $1 items is one of the best sections in the store.
We have one about an hour from us right across the NY border, and we go as often as we can. I can’t wait for Target to come to Canada!

I have a few of those children’s Circo bins and the mesh panel in the front actually has a long magnet on the bottom, so you can reach through and pull out small items through the mouths (I have the frog and the dog) and it will snap back into place. I’m not sure if I’m describing this well, but I really love them.
Laura says
Oh my goodness, I so didn’t realize that….so very cool!!!
Jessica says
Never ever gets old. In fact, it will probably get worse. You’ll learn the sales and those glorious clearance end caps will call to you at least once a week.
Laura says
Plan to have a separate budget line for “Target” when your store opens!!! 🙂 It never gets old…

What part of Pennsylvania are you in? I’m right by the capital city of Harrisburg, and I know of 2 Target stores in the area, are you at one of them???
Laura says
I was in Harrisburg at the Hilton and the Target wasn’t far from there but I can’t remember the address, sorry.
M the Organizer says
I LIVE at Target!! It never occurred to me that there weren’t any in Canada. I honestly don’t know how I’d organize my family without it. I guess I’d just have to be a lot more creative. 😉
Some of favorite things are their closet organizers. The great thing is that they’re not only useful, they’re super stylish. They keep changing their colors, designs and fabrics every few weeks. I’m realizing now how lucky I am to have it so close by. So glad you got to go there and enjoyed your trip!

I am so glad to hear all the positives about Target. They are in the process of rehabing an old Zellers store just around the corner from me. Set to open here in March 2013. I am in southwestern Ontario, just an hour out of Toronto. I can’t wait.

No, not tired of it all! My girls and I still consider it our happy place- especially when you add their salted pretzels into the equation.

Thanks for my new appreciation of my Target store just a few miles from my house. On those Lego bins, they are new this season. We’ve have a large collection and are up on the latest Lego. I’ve seen them at two superstores here, perhaps the 3rd has them as well?
