Well my friends, the month of the garage has come to an end. How did you make out? Whether you tackled a small corner of the garage or the whole thing you made progress and progress is good! Not getting caught up in the details and all that has to be done is a huge step in the right direction. I got this sweet comment on last week’s garage post and I can’t tell you how happy it made me.
I totally get why it’s taking me so long! It registered finally when I read what you wrote about trying to make it into a showroom! I want it to be functional, but I get so caught up and lost in the details. I’m detailing everything! I actually enjoy working this way, but it’s definitely not the most efficient way to accomplish this project and makes it difficult to enlist someone else’s help. No wonder why they keep disappearing on me. @ Angie
Love that!! Way to go Angie!
As for my own garage I haven’t changed anything else up since I last showed you pictures (see them here and here) however my husband did make us a bike rack.
He has a welding friend so that definitely helped move this project along. I had priced out bike racks to purchase but found them all to be pretty pricey. Another idea we had was to make one of these PVC bike racks which look to be pretty cool.
Sharon, at Momof6 blog, who I’ve been working with on this garage clean out has done an AMAZING job on her garage and just finished it up yesterday. Wait until you see her before and after pictures. I won’t spoil it by showing them all here but I must tell you that this one picture has got to be my favorite.
Nothing says organization like bins lined up one right after the other. I’m drooling! And all labeled as well, sweet!
So proud of Sharon for doing such an awesome job on her garage and pulling together as a family to make it happen. In Sharon’s words “it just takes a goal, and a plan to achieve it”. Awesome!!
Now it’s time for all of you that took the challenge with us to link up your “big reveal”! I can’t wait to see them all!

I LOVE your site! Been a loyal follower since forever! Definitely learned so much from you! We need the great garage cleanout at our house (we have two—a two car and a three bay and both are a total wreck! AGAIN! You’ve taught me SO much! LOVE your book! Keep up the great work!

Congratulations to all who finished this challenge! Timing was just not right for me this time around. Hubbie and grown up kiddos were not available much this past month, so I focused on the “P” in PROCESS and did a whole lot of planning. With everyone’s inspiration each week, we’ll have plenty of motivation later this summer to get the job done. Enjoy your newly organized spaces!

Thanks for hosting this challenge Laura! It’s been great and even though I’ve “finished” my garage, I’ve seen so many other great ideas that I want to incorporate. I’m sure the garage will be an ongoing project & I will return to these posts many times!

You know to this day, when I think of organizing, or find a a cute storage solution, I think of you LOL

I also have to say, “Thank you!” I’m thrilled to no longer see the trash heap piled on one side of the garage. I have a list that I’ll be tackling this Summer, but the worst part is over. God Bless You and Your Family!

My efforts have been reversed. I’ve been doing great at helping my parents empty THEIR garage for their pending move but I’ve been getting stuff in our garage (even though I’m being very careful of what I am taking to our home). I’m afraid to even post a photo! I’ll be weeding through it and making a few trips of the items we don’t need to Goodwill. I am motivated through your posts at least and I LOVE the bike rack (has my wheels turning!).

Thank you for hosting this challenge! It was perfect timing for me and exactly the motivation I needed to see it through to the end! We’re all so happy with the results, but have plans to incorporate a few of the ideas shared by others!

Thank you so much for hosting this challenge! I actually got my hubby out there to help me and we are loving our new, organized, and cleaned out space!! Everytime I open the garage door, I’m amazed at how much space there is now – we could park two cars in there if we needed to!
What’s next?? Home Office? Pantry? Laundry Room?

Thanks for hosting the great garage clean up!!! While I didn’t 100% get my garage to were it needs to be, its a huge huge huge improvement! Just a few more things left to do and they will be done SOON!!!! THANKS!!!
tool storage solutions for home says
Garages always have the wide assortment of items compared to anywhere else in the home. Keeping toys and tools organized is a challenge for anyone.
Angela @ Garage Builders says
Single car garages are the hardest to keep organized. Keep in mind that the roof space above the car makes a great storage area too. Put up a couple of pieces of plywood and that can create a lot of extra space to store extra belonging. Just dont store anything that is climate sensitive, because it will be subject to all seasons.

Hello Laura,
I stumbled across your blog while looking for more websites that speak to dealing with clutter.
Nice blog. Great pictures.
My company deals with the last piece of the project, hauling away the items (or in other words junk) they no longer want or need.
We see a lot of garage, basement and spare room clean outs.
We see cars actually back in garages. 🙂
All the Best,
Jose
