Staples Mailmate Shredder Giveaway! (closed)

Last week I talked about getting my once a year filing done. And of course, what comes with filing is a big pile of shredding that needs to be done when you pull out the old information and replace it with the new.
Thankfully I had the opportunity to give the Mailmate M7 Cross-Cut Shredder from Staples a spin and was happy with the results. It was quick and easy to use and it did the job right without clogging up on me. I hate it when that happens, don’t you? This particular shredder is designed to take up less counter space, but offers a larger bin capacity for shredding unwanted mail.

Awesome! Just told my husband, after shredding for 1 1/2 hrs that I need to shred as I go. The problem however, is that my shredder is a dinosaur and so large is sits in a corner, with stacks covering it. I could really use this shredder.

We finally gave in last year and took multiple bags to Shred-It. Believe me, for the price you pay, you could buy yourself a shredder multiple times — the trick is that you have to stay on top of it.

The handling of mail is one of the biggest obstacles in my organizing journey because of the decisions that accompany it. Having a shredder at my mail station would cut out one of my biggest excuses: “I’ll get rid of that junk mail later ….” :-)

Have been looking at cross cut shredders and this looks like a great one!!
This is WONDERFUL!! What an easier shredding experience? Just pull on the handle! That is like the BEST feature for me! With my current shredder I have to lift the head off (exposing the sharp shredding blades) and remove the bag of shreds, replace the bag and replace the head. LOVEing the efficiency of just dump and go!!
I would love this shredder. I work from home in the medical field and my shredder died about a year ago. So now I have a “burn pile” but that is not as convenient as a shredder.

Awesome! I love the way you can see when it is getting full and how easy it looks to dump. There is nothing more that I hate as when I have to lift the lid of my shredder to dump it and half of the paper hits the floor before I even get it into the sack. Let me add my name to the list of the hundreds of your faithful followers who have already responded. I was really impressed by this new Mailmate shredder being offered by Staples. Currently, we have a khaki-colored plastic trash bin on top of which sits a small, lightweight,”vintage” shredder that was purchased before, or during the emergence of, cross-cut shredders. In fact, it can only shred 3 sheets of paper at a time. And don’t even think about shredding credit cards; those have to cut by hand with scissors. Ouch! I like the Mailmate because 1) it sits on top of the desk and can free up space on the floor, 2) it’s compact, 3) it shreds way more pages than my current one, 4) it shreds credit cards (yay!), and 5) all buttons and handles are at my fingertips.
I have been a follower for around 2-3 years. I do love your funny posts on loving baskets at the dollar stores, etc. I am an organizer here at home, but i want to be better. so your blog is a great support.

Oh, we could use this at our house. We have a file cabinet full of old bank and credit card statements that need to be shredded. We had a shredder before, but it got hopelessly stopped up and we had to pitch it.

Wow! I feel like I should start a save the trees movement after reading about all the paper that is waiting to be shredded! But until then, I could use this shredder to send all my papers off to the landfill! :).

OmGosh! My dream team! I have recently been drooling over this shredder online! And the Martha Stewart line (since it matches our little office space in our gues room!) Our shredder is so old and clogs up so easy that I end up just stacking it to ‘do later’ of course this then becomes a much dreaded mammoth task, which then becomes clutter, which in turn creates stress! Oh, the joy of being able to shred-as-you-go. I miss those days! Winning this giveaway would bring them back!
As a teacher and grad student I have so many papers clogging up my desk, drawers, bookshelves … this shredder would be the perfect thing to help me finally get organized — and stay that way!

OMG that is the perfect size for my cramped little house! It’s got 3 br 2 baths crammed into 1000sq ft. I MUST be roganized jsut to fit everything in it! I could use a tiny little shrredder like this one!

What a neat little machine. Would love to have one to stay organized.
We usually stock pile our papers to be shred and then take them to one of the free shredding events that our city offers once or twice a year. In this day and age with identity theft, you have to protect yourself. It would be great to shred as you go and free up that space for more practical usage.

Oh Laura, if you could see the filing I’ve built up over the past six months you would be so happy to help me plow through with this handy dandy set you’re offering. I would be thrilled to create itty bitty bits of paper with this rockin’ shredder! When I’m done shredding I promise to compost it all and then complete the cycle by using the rich soil in my outdoor plantings later this Spring!

That shredder looks like it’s a great size and I love the big “drawer” to be emptied rather than taking the shredder part off a can and having to leave it around.

Who couldn’t use another shredder? I have one in my office upstairs, but would love one down in the kitchen. That way I could prevent large amounts from making it up the stairs! Biggest problem with my current shredder is that it overheats after a few minutes of shredding. Guess it’s trying to tell me to shred as it comes in, not save it up!

I was just telling my husband last night that we need a shredder (we have a HUGE stack of papers to shred that we’ve moved to three different apartments now).
Our aging shredder is a floor model that has been relegated to the basement, which makes it inconvenient to use. One that could be handy to where we actually open the mail would certainly get a lot of use!
I’ve recently downsized my home by 1/2, and my shredder didn’t come with me… only because 1) its blades were bent (I had to cover part of the entry with packing tape and fold all my items to shred on the good side of it!) 2) I want a smaller one, as I don’t have room for a larger one.
I would love to have a new shredder as my old one does get clogged up often. I shred papers and put them on my vegetable garden and find it has improved the soil quite a bit. also keeps down weeds as would any other kind of mulch!
