Hi everyone, I apologize for getting this up late. We were away yesterday in the city for the hockey game and drove home in treacherous winter driving conditions. It took us three hours and my nerves are shot. Rather than keep you waiting any longer though I’m going to go ahead and get this up even though I don’t have much of a post to go with it. Sorry about that.
I do quickly want to show off my most recent purge pile though. This is what left my house last week:
Mostly old coats and clothes from my closet.
As a recap, these are my other purge piles since the beginning of this year:
As you can see purging alone is an ongoing process. Unless you are living in a bubble you will have to stay on top of the clutter that creeps in. And it will. It’s inevitable. Set up a donation station and have it ready to go at all times. Makes life so much easier. And it certainly doesn’t have to be anything fancy.
So hopefully today I’ll see some of your purge piles going out the door. If I can do it, you can do it!
I’m so happy to see the progress you’ve each already made, so proud of you!
Please feel free to link up below any progress you’ve made during the challenge so far. Big or little it’s all good! Don’t forget to celebrate your accomplishments!!

I’m getting so good at purging lately that I worry I’ll get rid of something we actually want to keep! I really needed the challenge this week to keep me going on the nitty-gritty!

In this week’s progress report I shared some ideas of what to do with all of those purge piles… ideas of where to donate, recycle, and even sell of Ebay or Craigslist. Only 5 more days until the Big Reveal! And I still have lots to do to finish up my Big Basement Project!

Lots of purging going on here. Visit my closet cleaning blog to see what I mean.

I don’t have a link today, but I am definitely due to organize some of my purge piles – they’re starting to multiply in different parts of the house, so I need to gather them up and get them donated. I was hoping to be inspired to do some Spring cleaning overall, but since colder whether just returned last night, I should probably just bite the bullet and get it done! I usually start with a run to two different Once Upon a Child stores (they seem to have different standards as to what they’ll take), then Goodwill.

i got the wall stencil up over the 3-day weekend. looks awesome! and was much easier than i thought it would be! the pantry is almost done – everything is back inside but have a few more things to wrap up before sharing the big reveal. i’m so glad i participated in this challenge – it really helped to keep me on track knowing i would have to come in here week after week to post my update. thank you!!!

My first week, I just cleaned up the piles and dusted off the tops of the dressers. This week I’ve been digging under the bed, through closets and sorting piles of papers. I still have more closet spaces to go. My goal is to be clutter free! It will not look real cute, but I feel so refreshed when I walk in a room and everything is up or out of sight. It just looks neat!

This challenge has been a lot of fun and it has helped me stay on track with the project. We were able to get started and complete the chalkboard over the three day weekend. It worked out great since we needed to wait three days after painting the wood to be able to use it. I just have a couple of things to finish up and cannot wait for the big reveal. Thank you so much for hosting this challenge

This week was especially challenging because it was the week that I had to sort through all of the contents that had been in my office. I found some hidden gems, but mostly just a bunch of garbage that I’ll never have a use for. This is really good or me. Love it.

I’m way behind! The kids and I got sick! But! I’ve nearly got half of the room painted and rearranged. All in it’s time. 😀

I love the idea of a set DONATE spot….. it will make staying on top of the clutter so much easier… totally going to incorporate that in my empty closet!!! Thanks!

People usually buy new clothes and household things every year. And at the end of the year they throw it out. We can recycle these things or can donate them to needy one. Or we can sale those things which are useless for us but can be useful for others, it will save us space and money too.

I’ve always had a donation box set up but this last year I’ve really determined to purge through the stuff. And you’re right. It’s continuous. My storage room that saw my tough love last spring is yet again to the point it’s driving me nuts.

Are u going to have more monthly challenges?
Also, I have a small 1 bedroom apt. and only have 4 upper cabinets in my kitchen (no lower). do u have any suggestions for making room for a pantry?
Laura says
I haven’t decided yet whether or not I’ll do more. Are you able to add a free standing pantry somewhere in your apartment to help with storage?
