Today’s Digitwirl:
I love, love, love this Kodak Pulse digital picture frame and was so excited when I saw that Carley was reviewing it for a Digitwirl episode. My brother, sister and I purchased this particular picture frame back in 2010 for my parents as a 40th wedding anniversary present and they too absolutely love it. What makes it so special is that this frame comes with its own email address so I can email pictures to my mom whenever I want directly to her frame. She doesn’t have to hassle with trying to take photos sent to her email and adding them to the frame herself. Now they get to enjoy photos right away over and over again. It’s absolutely brilliant and I highly recommend it as a gift for someone you love. My parents live far away from us so they really love to see new pictures of the kids pop up on their frame. It’s like a gift that just keeps on giving! It’s also a great way to keep photo clutter to a minimum. No albums required and you get to enjoy your pictures daily. So great! To find out more watch Carley’s video below.
Notes from Carley:
When you look around your house it’s probably filled with beautiful framed pictures from when your daughter was a baby or special events like your wedding. The problem is that your “baby” is now a fifth-grader now and you’re celebrating your 15th anniversary next month. Most of us stopped printing pictures when we made the shift to digital photos which makes our framed photos woefully out-of-date. Now all our memories are stored on our computers, our phones, or maybe still trapped on memory cards. Well we found a great way to get those digital memories off your devices and into a picture frame in a snap.
The Kodak Pulse Digital Photo Frame is a beautiful frame that holds up to 4000 pictures and has several different dynamic display options. You can send the photos wirelessly from places like iPhoto, Kodak Gallery, Facebook, and even upload them from a memory card or flash drive. But here’s where the Pulse really gets ours racing. You can create an email address for your frame and email photos directly to it from anywhere. So that moutaintop shot you took when you were skiing will be on display by the time you’re at the bottom of the slopes. It comes in a 7” and a 10” version and makes an amazing gift for loved ones who live far away or even just to have in your office so you can get updated pictures when you’re not around.
Check out this week’s Twirl and find out why being framed might not be such a bad thing.

I absolutely LOVE my digital picture frame! It’s nestled on my counter amidst a vintage bread box/tissue holder, and an old graniteware dish filled with gingerbread cookie cutters and a candle. Flipping it on is one of the first things I do each day.
Our family, including those 6 oh-so-fun grandchildren, doesn’t live near by, so I get to re-live wonderful moments every time I glance over or walk by. Sure beats a dusty photo album sitting on a shelf!
Now … the big task is to continue to keep it updated every few months and not wait til there’s a million and a half pictures to sort through!

I gave this frame to my parents and they loved it for the first 6 months. then it stopped working and we could never get Kodak to help them fix it. It’s now collecting dust 🙁
Laura says
Oh I’m so sorry to hear that!

I wish I had known about this before Christmas! My mother-in-law would enjoy this so much, but she is not technical at all, so as long as she didn’t have to do anything that would be awesome! Looks like a great Mother’s Day gift to me!

An important piece of getting things done

We actually set it up for my parents before we gave it to them so all they had to do was plug it in. Super easy. She will need internet though in the house.

Please consider only posting videos that start playing only when activated. Ones that automatically start are very frustrating.

I’m so sorry, yes it’s driving me crazy too! I am trying to have it fixed. I appreciate your patience. Thank you! 🙂

I love this digital frame! I bought my mom one for Christmas and love it! (need to get one for myself)
She loves it too. Sometimes pictures get stuck in albums and in our computer and now this is a way to look at them daily and bring smiles to everyones face.

Thanks for the reminder of how cool digital photo frames are. I keep meaning to get one and never seem to remember. In fact it would be a great gift for my sister, who just had a baby, and has an endless supply of new baby photos!

does anyone know if the randparents will need to do anything?? even touch the screen , mine are very scared of these things called screens !:)
Laura says
There is a bit of set up at the beginning which we did for my parents before even giving them the frame. Then as pictures are sent, they do have to touch the screen to accept them although you might even be able to by-pass that step. I can’t remember.

The Kodak digital frame is great but it’s a bit techy. I recently discovered this mobile app that works great with it and allows me to send pictures to my grandpas whenever I want:
