Hey friends, thought I’d give you a peek into what my unedited videos look like. I’m done with editing…blech. Seriously, who has time for such things anyway? Just kidding to all you editing geniuses, it’s all good 🙂
From now on though I’m one cut Laura, dorkiness and all!
So I’d love it if you’d chime in below with any video topics you’d like to see in the future. I’m going to try to post videos more frequently, maybe. If you tell me to stick with blogging and forget the videos well then I might do that too. Want to see more, let me know! Then let me know what to talk about 🙂 Gosh I’m bossy aren’t I? Don’t answer that.
Bye.

Love it!! I posted some video book reviews on 5 Minutes for Books last year (http://www.5minutesforbooks.com/category/by-reviewer/video-reviews/), and I knew there was no way I was going to edit, so I just did it and posted!! I should do more.
Tammy @ Skinny Mom's Kitchen says
OMG I love this!!! You have inspired me to embrace my dorkiness!!! I cannot tell you the number of videos I did not post because I did not like the “dorkiness” of them. Awesome!!
Laura says
That’s a great slogan isn’t it…embrace the dorkiness! I love being a dork 🙂
Heidi of Operation Organization says
“Embrace the Dorky” was exactly what I was clicking over to say from my feed reader! 🙂
Your ‘What *do* I want to know?’ Comment gave me a real chuckle.
I will read/watch, no matter the presentation, because the content is great!
Looking forward to more kid tips. I always encourage my clients to read,
‘The Berenstain Bears and the Messy Room’ as an introduction to keeping their things tidy and together.

We love you for who you are! And you are an awesome inspiration to many. I’m really glad you decided to post this. Sometimes I think we develop these unrealistic ideals of who we *think* the people are behind the blogs. And we imagine them being perfect people. That’s just not the way it is! I think seeing the real you makes you much more approachable and likeable to everyone. I appreciate your ‘real-ness’ and I by all means don’t think you are a dork! I love your blog and the inspiration you give. Keep up the great work! 🙂
Laura says
Thanks Ginny, you are so sweet to say that!
Shannon says
You are NOT dorky…well no more than anyone else… You are real and adorable! I loved it! Now I want to hang out and have a cup of tea with you!
Laura says
I would love that, next time on my video I’ll have to have some tea and we can pretend 🙂
Kim @ Homesteader's Heart says
Seriously, are you my sister? LOL! You are CRACKING ME UP! Okay you have to watch my dorky video. It has nothing to do with organizing but you’ll understand why I think we’re sisters. LOL! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahu9YsdaP_0&feature=plcp&context=C32db97aUDOEgsToPDskK1y13ogR8BtReAcq2R0DTx
Keep doing videos! Love it!

Laura says
Too funny! I honestly didn’t even notice any lip smacking in your video at all but it sure drives me crazy when I watch my videos back and I think, why the heck do I keep doing that LOL.
You are too cute!
Shonda says
I love this! I have only done one vlog and I know I would be somewhat dorky too! Where are your other videos? I guess I can check on Youtube.
Laura says
Yes they are all under my orgjunkie channel 🙂
Karri Reiser says
I love your video. It’s important to be you not an edited you. As a new reader of your blog I appreciate getting to know you this way so please keep them unedited.
Thanks for your inspiration – Karri
Laura says
Ahh thanks Karri!
Lynn says
Loved the video! Thanks for keeping it real and for being yourself. And I can’t wait for the ebook you are working on. It sounds great!
Laura says
Thanks Lynn! I hope it doesn’t take too much longer but I’ve been “working” on it for ages so we’ll see if I can get my act together 🙂
Rachael from KitchenCourses.com says
This video is great – way to keep it real, Laura! You’re adorable and I love the uncut videos!! Keep them coming!
Laura says
Thanks Rachael!
Kristy says
Yay! I’m the only dork around!! 😉 Loved the video..the realness. Now if I can just get the organizing down…I will be an organized dork too!!!
Laura says
Oh yes you can Kristy, that’s the best kind of dork around 🙂
Andrea says
Love it!! Was this a….”I look so HOT today! I look fantastic..I’ve gotta to get this on video?” lol
I’d love a video on the steps you take in meal planning & saving money there not just the time-saver; laundry efficiency?..if you are on top of your laundry.
You look great! Looking forward to more videos. : )
Andrea
Laura says
LOL…well I did throw some lipstick on…does that count?
Laura Jane @ Recovering Chocoholic says
Love the video! I think it’s great unedited. It’s more like you’re really just chatting with us. I’d say any topics that you blog about would also be good in a video post.
Laura says
Thanks Laura! I can’t believe how much time I saved not doing all that editing. So freeing!
Erin says
I love the unedited version. It makes you more real to us, cuz we are just like you!! Thanks for sharing you and your organizing tips.
Laura says
Thanks Erin!
Laura's mom Cathy says
Laura – I love you just the way you are!!! I think you should treat your readers to a video of you doing your hair with all your wonderful hair products – now that would be something to see!!
Andrea says
LOOOVE the UNeditted! Sorry… I dont have any USEFUL comments like WHAT to post but I did want to say that I love the real UNeditted video. Thanks for opening up to us… Very honorable!

Dawn says
Love this! Very fun – and your eyes are gorgeous! Keep ’em coming. (l am loving the neat scanner I was lucky enough to win from you last year.)

Laura says
Thanks Sinea!
The Bearded Iris says
Okay, I LOVE the “dorky” you, which is totally NOT dorky, by the way! Your laugh is my favorite part…absolutely contagious. Funny what you said about not editing so we could see the real you… I just made my first vlog and even WITH extreme editing and special effects, it’s an absolute freak show. The only thing missing is my signature cameltoe. LOL! I miss “seeing” you on a regular basis, now that the 52 Weeks program is over. 🙁
Laura says
Okay now I have to go check out your video for sure 🙂 Forget the editing, who needs it!! So will you be joining the 29 Day Organizing Challenge in February? I hope so!
Becky L. says
oh dear it was like having you face to face and just loved your facial expressions! You make me laugh, my friend. Thanks for sharing and I love your blog and inspiration!
How about organizing a chest freezer? I have thought about doing that. I have one and the other day I opened it and it was so full. I rearranged things in there and used a few things today. That helped. I tend to keep like items together but nothing but stacking stuff on top of each other. Bins probably would help, like dishpans to separate stuff? Some items in Tupperware. Just an idea! I did make a list of what I have which will help. And why is it so full? You may ask….well, found some great meal deals lately. BOGO meat deals at Safeway are great (buy one get one free–on certain meats listed in ad!) Have a good weekend!
Cathy says
Okay, THAT made me laugh out loud. I loved the “What DO I want to know? ” lol I think leaving everything in one cut is great. I think the spots that are the best is when you have a fast-moving video, like having an outline of a topic you want to cover, and then just winging it like you were sitting down to coffee with a friend. Which is what I felt like. I hope you DO continue to post videos. But stop calling yourself a dork – clearly you’re NOT a dork, I read you. 🙂
Susanne says
You and your dorkiness make me smile!

Hi, from Greece!:) I just found you these days looking around on technorati.com bloglist. Your blog was the first one and I just stucked here! I love your inspirational posts and I liked you very much in this video. You are so young!!! And gorgeous!:) My son also has food allergy, as your son. I have a blog about Greek cuisine in Hungarian language. Yes, complicated:) But I am an unorganized person, and that caused me much trouble in my life. But now you give me really good ideas and inspiration to get myself together and organize a little better my family’s life. ..and you are not a dork, you are a very nice person!:) So, I will read you from now on because you make me feel good and you inspire me. Greetings from the island of Evia, Greece! Kisses to your children and keep the good work going on!
Laura says
Wow Greece, thanks so much for visiting my little site!
