I’ve partnered up with technology lifestyle expert Carley Knobloch, from Digitwirl, to bring you some fun yet informative videos on various products and services related to technology that will help you get organized and simplify your busy life.
Today’s Digitwirl:
I’m not sure if you’ve all heard of Dropbox or not but I’m fairly new to it. My daughter sometimes helps me with my business and we are finding it extremely helpful for sharing files between our computers. It’s especially helpful for bigger files like video. She is also going to use it for school instead of carrying around a thumb drive. She can log in to Dropbox from any computer and there will be all the files she needs. It’s very cool. So if you haven’t heard of it, you’ll definitely want to check it out. And if you have, and are wondering where the heck I’ve been, please be kind because when it comes to technology I’m not on the cutting edge that is for sure. I’m the girl that STILL hands her smartphone to her teenage daughter whenever I need something done on it. Thank goodness for smart teenagers!!
Notes from Carly:
Between home computers, work computers, Smartphones, Netbooks and Tablets chances are you’ve needed something from one device when you’re on another. Or, you spend tons of time emailing documents, files and pictures to yourself so you can access them elsewhere. Not only is it annoying, but it’s completely unnecessary.
If you want to be able get a hold of your digital files no matter where you are then check out Dropbox–quite simply the easiest online storage app around. Once you download it to your computer you can just drag and drop any file into your Dropbox folder where it will live safe and sound in an encrypted cloud (watch our video to see exactly what that means).
Breathe easy knowing your files are synced, backed up, easily accessible, and can even be shared with other people. Check out this week’s video (below), and not only will you learn all about Dropbox, but Carley will reveal a secret talent she shares with another clever blonde.

I love Dropbox! I use it for my college class work. This way I always can have access to my work whether I’m on my laptop, my desktop, or out and about. This is the best way to organize my stuff since my classes are all online…

This sounds like something I should try. Just the other day my boss emailed me, while I was on vacation, needing a photo that only was available on my work computer. Dropbox would have made it so simple to help her out.

Dropbox is really a lifesaver! I use it for personal files, as well as for files for two businesses I’m involved in. If you share Dropbox files with someone else, just be aware that anything you do affects them, as well!
