Just got back from Walmart and was excited to see they have in the Mom’s Ultimate Family Fridge Calendars.
size: 18″ x 13.5″
I just started using this calendar this past year and I can honestly tell you that I absolutely LOVE it. I quickly grabbed the 2012 one when I saw it because boy do they sell out fast and this is the only time of the year you see them in stores. So even though the calendar runs from Sept 2011 to Dec 2012 you don’t usually see them around in stores in Dec or Jan (here in Canada anyway). This is one popular calendar!!
A couple of things I love about it. It’s magnetic for my fridge keeping it front and center for the whole family to see and the squares are a good size. I also think the illustrations are fun 🙂 The only downfall of course is that when the month is up you rip off the page rather than flipping it over like a regular calendar. Sometimes it’s necessary to refer back to things so I usually keep the previous month folded on top of the fridge just in case.
Anyway just wanted to give you the heads up about them being available in stores now in case you were interested. Costco also carries them as well I believe.
Anyone else a fan of this particular calendar?

I am using this calendar this year. I usually used the More time for Mom’s calendar which I think I actually like better, and it comes with handy stickers! http://www.moretimemoms.com/family-magnetic-calendar-p-37.html
I keep the old pages of my calendar in a file, so when I am putting together my family photo album I can refer back to the dates.

Yes you get a page of stickers with the Mom’s Ultimate Calendar as well, I just never seem to use them 🙂

Now I’m confusing myself…..I posted below that I used the Mom’s Ultimate Calendar for years, but now that I look at this one I think it’s the one I’ve used mose recently, LOL. I’ll have to take a look when I get home. I think it’s this one though because I like that this one runs longer and narrower. I think that’s why I switched.

If only someone would invent a magnetic stripe that can adhere to a stainless fridge, we would all be in business!

My girlfriend used Command picture hooks to hang hers and it worked awesome. Here’s the link:

I have never seen these before, but I’m trying it out FOR SURE! I can’t use pocket planners or calenders in a binder. I need it to be front and center! So i have mine on the fridge, suction cupped! haha. I will be checking my walmart for this one!

Yes I’m a visual girl too. I also think it’s important that the entire family can see and participate in the calendar.

I use that same calendar too. It’s great and it never slides down the front of the fridge. Guess I’m heading to WalMart tomorrow to see if there in stock in WV.

I use Sandra Boynton’s Mom’s Family Calendar: http://www.amazon.com/Moms-Family-Calendar-Sandra-Boynton/dp/0761157379. It has much more room to write things, though it does take up much more room. It’s not magnetic, but I’ve used clear strapping tape to fasten it to the fridge, which worked fine. Now I hang it on a nail on the wall over my desk in the kitchen.
I also print out a week from iCal to go on the fridge as well, as I find that I need to add a lot of things when I’m not home (at a cello lesson, violin lesson, Tae Kwon Do, soccer, musical theater rehearsal, work, etc)–I can add that on my iPhone, and it automatically appears on my home computer, but then it doesn’t always make it to the wall calendar! The nice thing about iCal is, it sends email alerts that pop up on my phone, wherever I am. I wish the wall calendars could do that!

I use a simple desk pad calendar. It’s 20″x17″ and the squares are 2″x 2 1/2″. There is lots of room for writing all our activities, but it’s boring; no stickers, no cute pictures, nothing. I rip out several pages at a time and attach them onto my fridge with cute magnets. Then I color-code each thing that’s written on it, ie: red for bills, green for Dr. appts, etc. I’ve done this very thing for about 25 years and it’s worked for us, but after seeing some of the cute calendars in this post, I think it may be time for a change.

I buy the largest “office” white calendar at Staples ( $26) and buy packages of colored dots meant for yard sale pricing ( red=school color, lime green=daughters fav color, orange=e.m.s. color for hubby since he’s a medic). I plan to add yellow for my color this coming year for keeping up with household chores/ seasonal and my apts. On the dot is written time indicating a work shift or apt/ game/practice etc. The cork board is where we hang the marching band, soccer, daughter work schedule etc. So I see the color and then find the activity for details. In my planner go the same dots and a copy of each schedule folded. This is where I keep copies of the boys h.s. schedules listing locker numbers and lock codes in case we have to get homework for one that is sick/ or make an apt that doesn’t interfear with a core subject. The left over space on each block is where I will ( New Years eve) write in all important dates that carry over before tossing this years calendar. Cute is awesome to see each day on a calendar, but honestly I’m an organizer and with all the “cute” backpacks, hoodies, cleats and sport sox laying around!! LOL plain is good in my corner of the world that keeps us on time for it all. I do have a house binder and cute cartoons, encouraging notes and pics of the kids in the sleeve on the binder.

I used another one very similar to this that I would pick up at Costco, except it didnt have rip off pages and it wasnt magnetic….they are so great when you have a family that is going in different directions and the day spaces were so large you could get everything on them that was happening on a single day…I dont use them anymore due to the ages of my family but I still like a larger space as we still write on the calendar even though we have iPhones…its hard to break old habits!

I have used this calendar for years and I love it too. I’ve looked at other options and none seem to fit the bill like this one has. I’ve always bought at a calendar store or online so I’ll have to check out Walmart and see if they have it. Thanks!

I’ve been using this calendar for at least the last 5 years. I order mine from calendars.com – they sometimes run deals like 15% – 20% off or free shipping. I had seen it once at a calendar store that set up just for the holidays at the mall, but I usually order it online. I love the size of it and have it stuck right on the top mount freezer door. I look at it many times a day each time I get something from the fridge, it keeps me on track.
Sue says
I just checked out calendars.com and they have the one you mentioned – which is pictured on a top freezer door they also have one that is a little narrower to fit on a side by side fridge door. They are $16.99 US dollars.

I love the calendar from Fly Lady. I have used that for years. Nice big squares and I got the magnet holders from her to hang it up.

I use the More Time Mom’s calendar that you can get at Costco and I love it, lots of space to write and even with all the kids activities (3 children) there is still space to write other things on those days. Mind you I have a system on how things get written on the calendar so it all works : )

I have not used one of these calendars, but when I had a busy family at home, and homseschooled and had a family business, we lived by a large wipe-off calendar on our fridge. It was a 60 day calendar so that I could laways see what was coming up ahead!

I just bought the green version of yours. It’s still called the Mom’s Ultimate Calendar but subtitled Magnetic Family Fridge instead of Family Fridge. It has fewer stickers (375) but still 16 months. It is smaller and narrower BUT you don’t have to rip off the pages. The used ones flip up and tuck under the front of the magnetic part. Looking forward to trying it out. I got it at Zellers for 16.99.

My favorite organizing calendar is More Time Moms Family Calendar. The best feature for me is that each calendar day has lines on it so I can write in several events in chronological order and they are easily read. The calendar also spans across both the top and bottom of the calendar and you flip it up to see the next month.
Also, it has stickers to put on dates to indicate special events. It doesn’t have a magnet attached, but I just hang it on my fridge with magnetic clips. I would be lost without this calendar. I’ve tried several and this one works best for me.

Ha! I’ve created my own in excel and prettied it up so it’s nice to look at when I see it on the fridge.
What I recall I type in before I print it, and everything else get’s written in as we go along.
It is my survival guide – I can never remember when to take bakes to the school, or who has a party, or what day someone will be late due to sports or meetings – my fridge tells me.
