My girlfriend from BC is an organization superstar. She’s the one with the thrift store and I love that she sends me pictures of stuff she is organizing to give me a little fix. Now that’s what you call a friend, it always cheers me up!!
Recently Sarah created what she calls a “jewelry party on her wall” cause she’s fun like that and well who doesn’t love a good party!
Utilizing an empty space on her wall, she added those small clear Command hooks by 3M to take her jewelry from this messy, tangled, cluttered (although still contained!) chaos:
to this lovely wall of organizational bliss:
Doesn’t that make you want to break out in song? No? Ahh come on, it wouldn’t be a party without singing now would it? Hola! 🙂
Seriously, this is so easy to do my friends. You can add these Command hooks absolutely anywhere because they will not wreck your walls. I just did a series of videos showing how to use them that I can’t wait to show you but sadly they aren’t quite ready yet.
You can add a jewelry party to just about anywhere…to a wall, on the inside of a cabinet, on the back of a door, inside a closet, to the side of a dresser. The possibilities are endless really. When you get bored of it, change your mind or move, no sweat. You just take them down and re-use them somewhere else. So awesome!! These mini hooks are pretty inexpensive too because you get like 20 in a pack for about $3.00 or $4.00. You can find them a most department stores.
Here’s a close up for you:
Now go throw yourself a jewelry party, you’ll be glad you did! And don’t forget to sing while you do it!

Brilliant!!! I have been searching for a great, pretty way to display my jewelry. This is awesome. She needs to do a YouTube video now, because this is the best use I have seen by far.

I used a tie rack to hang my necklaces, but I put it on the wall to the side of my dresser. It’s kind of out of sight, but I like it that way. Truthfully, while I love that the jewelry is separated and easy to access on the wall like that, it would stress me out to look at it everyday. I prefer to have my jewelry (and other small things like that) well-organized, but also out of sight.
I’m glad she found something that works for her, though!!

I have bought a bulletin board and the large push pins and hang all of my necklaces and bracelets on there. For all of my earrings I have bought the boxes at the craft stores that you store beads in for making the jewelry, the one with the compartments and place a pair in each. They stack real well on top of each other and easy to see. I have them labeled, hoops, by colors, etc. Makes it easier for me to see them and also on the necklaces I can see them so that I can decide which looks best. Always looking for storage ideas.

That is awesome! Guess what I am adding to hubby’s shopping list this week?!?!?! Yep…enough for my jewelry and for my daughter! Thanks for sharing!

Hi. Love the command hooks but this is my question. We live in our motorhome & move frequently. I have to have something that keeps my jewelry from falling down when we’re mobile. I found a cute hanger (looks like a regular hanger that is ripply on the bottom) at The Container Store that keeps a few necklaces from tangling but I have more pieces that need organizing so looking for something else. Thank you!

Very nice! I also needed a place for my heaps of jewelry so I quickly tapped a few finishing nails into the inside of my closet door. Now I have a hidden place to hang all my necklaces & my jewelry box has enough space for earrings & bracelets.

I used to use something similar. A cork board with cuphooks on the inside of the door to my linen closet.

I’m guessing she doesn’t have cats? My cats would be SO HAPPY that I’d hung shiny things on the wall for them. That’s a nifty way to organize jewelry, though! (And now I’m thinking maybe it would be an easy way to make something for the cats to play with, too.)
Laura says
Oh that’s funny! This method would also work great on the inside of a cabinet though as well if you’d rather hide it 🙂
Melody says
I like that idea! As disappointing as it would be for the cats. 🙂

<3 Command hooks! I use them in my kitchen to hang some of my utensils (wine opener, peeler, kitchen scissors, and measuring spoons) and have a plan to use them at school in my supply closet to hang laminated posters by hole-punching and then hanging by subject.
For jewelry organization, I found a hanging organizer. It has little baggies sewn in: little ones for earrings/rings/bracelets and bigger ones for necklaces. I just hang it on the back of my bathroom door where I get ready in the a.m. One could just as easily hang it in their closet or wherever they get dressed. It came from Marshall's for about $16.

What a simple way to solve the problem with some style! I recently went on a little Etsy hunt for similar solutions and featured a few of my favorites here:

Have had mine behind my enter door to a bedroom closet (small bedroom turned into a closet, thanks to IKEA). Works perfect have them going in a downward angle, no more tangles and now I am reminded of what I own.

EEEK – I just realised I asked a blog friend from the US to buy me some of those hooks and they are still in my “to do” box.
Best I get onto it!
But mine are for photos………..

I organize my jewelry on the inside of a cabinet door, using key ring hooks. View my post here:

Superb! I usually refuse to spend money on things like this, but the 3M command strips are a GODSEND!! especially if you have hard walls, like that one in my mom’s house are cement or something absolutely impossible to nail into!
Thank you for sharing your ideas. Love Love Love!

How about putting those hooks on that beautiful mirror and hanging IT on your wall!

Terrific idea!!

I could’ve written this very same post and the pictures would have been the same too! Except my before picture was AWFUL! I got rid of alot before I hung it up. I have a wardrobe system from Ikea and my 3M hooks are lined inside under the glass. I LOVE IT! It made all the difference in the world to get ready for work.

Laura, doing this with my tangled web of necklaces a few months ago not only got me organized — I unintentionally made fun wall art! I ended up doing the same to hang up my reusable grocery bags and purses. I even found a reason to use them in the kitchen. My oven mitts are no longer stuffed into drawers. They’re on command-hooked display.
I admit it–I’m a total command hook addict!

I did this last summer after I had a jewelry party ….and I had earned a lot of nice jewelry from hosting a home show…and was tired of it laying in my dresser. It has made a huge difference! I love this…I wish I had shared it with you earlier.

I have got to get me some of these hooks for my daughter. Love the mirror idea someone had.

I have hooks on back of bedroom door so they are easily visible when getting dressed plus located between closet and dresser so very convenient.

I have small curtain rods mounted on my wall, and then I hang my necklaces on ‘S’ hooks onto the curtain rod. Works fantastically and extremely cheap!

Looks brilliant!! This is the perfect way to organise all my jewellery. I’m thinking of hanging them on the inside of my wardrobe doors. Which Command hooks have you used here?
