And the purging continues….

in Organizational Challenge, Purging

And yes there are some containers in that pile.    I think I’ve completely lost my mind!

I’ve been posting pictures of my “to go” piles over the past couple of weeks (or at least just the ones I took pictures of).  Here are a few below.  These are just the thrift store piles, it doesn’t include the garbage bags of stuff that have left the building.  My house is starting to feel pretty empty and I LOVE it!

If you missed why I’m doing all this purging you can read more about it here.

I could have had one heck of a garage sale with all the stuff that’s been leaving the house but I just couldn’t be bothered.  I didn’t want to have all that stuff sitting in my basement waiting on spring to arrive and at this point I just want it gone.

Have you done any purging this week?  Maybe you are waiting for the 28 Day Organizing Challenge to start?  That’s the link to the official challenge page, you’ll see the tab at the top of the site there.  It starts on Monday and I can’t wait to tell you about all the AMAZING prizes that are going to be up for grabs.  As a teaser I will tell you that there are over $1500.00 in cash and prizes available to be won!!    Woohoo, have I got your attention now?  It’s going to be great, I hope you’ll join me and that you already have a good idea of what space(s) you’ll be concentrating on whether it be a whole room or a small space.  Remember we’ll be looking for the biggest change (among other things) so don’t be cleaning up those before pictures first.  Leave them in their natural state :)  I’m getting very excited about it!

Big thanks go out to Tanna from Complete Organizing Solutions who has agreed to be my guest judge for the challenge.  I just noticed that today on her blog she is featuring my tip for how I keep track of my keys so be sure to visit and check it out.

I’ve been purging like CRAZY!!
But I’m also waiting for the challenge…so I’m taking pictures of places that I won’t start on until next week now and just cleaning out the spaces that I just have to clean this week :)

We’re putting our house on the market this week, so I’ve got TONS of motivation and I’m sooo excited about having a challenge to make my motivation even higher, Thanks! :)

It’s exciting and exhausting all at the same time, putting our house on the market. Though, It is nice actually going through everything we have and getting rid of the junk along the way!
I’m sure you know exactly what I mean :)

I have never been a real organized person, but lately I’ve just been so excited about purging EVERYTHING. We live in an apartment now so we don’t have room for a lot of extra stuff lying around anyway, but I’ve made so many trips to the DI lately of old goods of ours, and it feels GREAT!

I did purge/organize a couple of kitchen cabinets, cleaned up our tv armoir in the bedroom and organized my daughter’s room (pics on my blog) but nothing big so far. I’ll check out the 28 day challenge – yay!!

I bet it feels great to get so much cleared out. Though – containers??? REALLY?? My jaw dropped last time when you showed how little craft supplies you left yourself. ;)

Aah! Where do you live, I would love to buy that gate from you! Alas, it’s probably too late, you’ve probably already gotten rid of it.

Hmm a challenge you say?? perhaps I should tackle my bedroom lol. I think the only room in the house that is totally neat and organized is my knitting room (you can check it out on my blog)
See you Monday to post the pictures of doom lol

Ahhhh! These are so inspiration! Why is it SOOO gratifying to get RID of stuff we once HAD TO HAVE, and paid good money for?

Keep up the good work!

Great job! I just love getting rid of stuff! we always have a donation pile going. It’s rarely worth all the hassle of having a yard sale.

We just decided to sell our house as well, so I am in the same boat. It’s amazing how easy it is to get rid of something when you aref aced with paying to move it!!! Great timing on your contest for me -I’ll be starting the purge February 1st!
