I have too much clutter - but it's contained in the bathroom's linen closet and my walk in closet. I'm better at giving things away and throwing things away. What it took was being at a thrift store across the street from my apartment - and seeing a girl my size looking for clothes. My mind flashed to the pile of clothes in my closet, and I realized, "Why hold onto things that could bless someone else??" and I got rid of a ton of clothes and accessories - happy to let someone else have them instead of the items going unused in my place.

I have a hard time with bins of just "stuff" - items with no home, and I can't think of where to put them, so they get lumped in with "stuff".

That is SO where I am right now! My SIL just pointed me to your site because I am in the midst of a MAJOR house decluttering project! This book would really help me along! :)

I have been decluttering, but I am yearning for the day that I feel I am "done"... when I can look around and not see the next thing to tackle.

I could have written the list. We did not pay for storage but can't park in the garage. I'd like to say it is shared clutter but my husband's is at his work and the kids are mostly in their rooms.

I need another book like I need a whole in my head but I truly NEED this book to help dig myself out of where I am.

I didn't take a before picture of my make-up but I've got more to go through!

I cannot count the number of times we are late because we can't find something. I never let anyone past the front room because of the clutter. I am so sick of living in a mess! Now if I can just get my husband to look at this I can get rid of his 2 foot high stack of papers sitting on this desk for 2 years! AAAAAAAAAA!!!

My mother in law is a hoarder. She pays for 2 storage spaces, there are pathways to walk thru her house. Her basement is totally full, her 2 very large bedrooms upstairs are full, her garge is full-there are boxes and piles everywhere! The reason I am talking about her house and not mine is this: she has 5 children, 3 live out of state, my husband and one daughter live here. When the others come into town, they have to stay at a hotel since there is no room for them and definately not their children. No sleepovers at grandmas. Everyone must meet at the hotel or at my house to visit. I alos have EVERY holiday here. Which means I usually pay for all of the food/drink. Also, 'this stuff" is all she talks about! She's going to have a sale and make a fortune and get rid of everything. Oh, the stuff isn't hers, it's her husband's. But every weekend, she is out at another art show buying more stuff! It has become her entire existence.
I guess, my point is-her clutter not only affects her, it affects her children, her grandchildren, her in-laws, everyone around her! Maybe she is an extreme example, but it scares me so much, I have started to constantly purge and ask myself if I really need something before I buy it. She is my cautionary tale.

Actually, I'm drowning in clutter. I'm going to check out this book because not only is my house cluttered, but my mind feels cluttered too. I need some direction and hopefully this book and your site (which I just found) will help me. I feel all of those things and more!

I remember years ago I got a couple books put out by two sisters, up in WA state, I think. They called themselves side tracked home executives. They were great in helping my keep my house decluttered. I'm not as good as I was. I need to keep my clutter minimal, which isn't. I could probably throw out 75% of the stuff that's laying around and not even miss it!!! What a thought!!
