A new occasional feature around here is going to be this memo board.  A place where I brain dump share some things that interest me and just might also be of interest to you.  Think of it as a quick little news bulletin but without all the scare tactics and hype.  Just you and me (well mostly me unless you join me in the comments :) ) chatting about this and that.

The Couponizer has introduced their all new and improved second edition version.  Sometime this week they will unveil a brand new site to go with it.  I’m very excited to check out the upcoming changes to this awesome coupon organization system.

Professional Organizer, Brandi Kajino, is holding a FREE teleclass all about organizing your home office on April 7th at 10:00 am PST.  For more details please visit Brandie’s blog, The Home Office Organizer.

The Container Store has a great sale going on right now, everything in their online store is 25% off.  Use code CLUTTERCREW at checkout for discount.  Expires:  April 13/09.

The Container Store, 25% off our entire store, enter CLUTTERCREW promo

Next I wanted to let you know about an online conference I’ll be attending April 6th through 9th.  It’s called A Woman Inspired and I am so looking forward to being uplifted and inspired by the amazing women who will be speaking.  Right now and until April 1st you can register at the reduced rate of only $12.95!   The best part is even if you can’t listen in on the scheduled live times, everything will be recorded so you can listen in whenever works for you.

Some of you may have noticed I have a new widget at the bottom of my right hand sidebar.  I have joined the ladies at Chic Chick Media, a new creative and fun advertising opportunity for women.  If you are looking to get the word out about your blog this is an affordable way to do it.

Finally I’m hoping you gals can help me out with something that is turning out to be much too complicated for me.  I’ve gotten in over my head over on Facebook while trying to create a fan page for this site.  Somehow I have now set up not one but three different things.  First there is an Organizing Junkie group, then a Org Junkie Fan Page and then I’ve somehow also created, but don’t ask me how, a Networked Blog page.  I’ve got different fans and followers on each and I have no idea which one to even promote.  It’s just too much and too loosey goosey for me.  Is there anyway to just consolidate them all into one?  Should I delete two and keep one.  Which one do I promote?  Maybe I should just forget about the whole thing because seriously it’s ridiculous and it’s hurting my head.

Now Twitter I like, it’s cut and dry and easy to follow.  Well except if you are trying to keep up with hashtags and such which I don’t because I get totally confused and lost..lol.  You can follow me on twitter at @orgjunkie or by clicking here if you want to.  I promise to keep it simple and under 140 characters :)

Oh and one last thing before I check out of here to try and figure out what we are going to eat this week, I just wanted to remind you that tomorrow is the last day for my Fridgefile giveaway.

Happy Sunday my friends!!

on Facebook I prefer groups over fan pages, I can never find fan pages!

and I didn’t know you had a group.

I’d say keep the facebook for sure. Its a little overwhelming right now so get rid of 2 and promote the other like crazy. Its easy and free promoting of your company. I would keep ‘Organizing Junkie Group’ as the name. Good luck

I agree…just keep the group page. I don’t know much about them, but I think you can recruit someone to be an “officer” and they might be able to help you out with maintaining it.

A Woman Inspired looks fantastic. I may have to pop over there again and really look at it and sign up… I am needing some inspiration right now.

As for Facebook, I would keep the group and then have a link for the networked blogs, but get rid of the fan page.

I think you can delete the network blog page you created and then you can re-create it from your group page (but, don’t quote me on that, esp. since FB just changed things…)

I’m still a Facebook holdout so I can’t help with the technical aspects, per se, but on consolidation I’m on the same page (so to speak). I say narrow it down to the Organizing Junkie group. I know that if I *were* to sign up over there that’s where I’d look for you, or under OrgJunkie Group, just ‘cuz I’m used to the blog url. :-)

Hope that helps a little. Good luck!

I’m laughing because Facebook makes my head hurt too! I created a fan page, but don’t know what to do next. And to top it off, I don’t know how to get back to the page! lol!

I’m for sure going to check out all your pages Laura!

You mean my Couponizer is about to become obsolete! What’s the upgrade?

Dawn the Couponizer is just being updated a bit from what I understand. Same as the original with a few fun new features:
All New Look-and-Feel
Additional Coupon Pockets
Tear-proof Materials
Elastic Booklet Closure Strap

I totally know what you mean about somehow accidentally creating groups in Facebook. I tried to do that a while back, created several groups, have no idea how to delete any of them, and basically just decided to come back to it later. If you figure it out please share how you did it, because I was totally confused!

I think I’m already following you on Twitter, but will do so if I’m not already!

I grabbed your button and am devoting a page just to buttons now. I finally got one so time to start tracking the ones down I read! Can;t wait for MPM to post!

I thought I was the only one who was being flummoxed by Facebook! I am there under duress, at any rate. I signed on to look for a single person and then about five long-lost friends found me! now I am wasting time opening “Easter Eggs” and nonsense that people are sending me. Ugh!

I think we “organizing” minds like things to be simple, streamlined, & uncluttered, therefore I love the idea of just doing one (facebook) or the other (twitter). Which ever is your fav.

Each of the 3 things serves a different purpose. Here’s how I would handle it:

1) Keep them all and cross link, with most of the information residing on your group page (i.e., encourage the 9 people on your fan page to join the 81 on the group)

2) Your networked blog is just a feed like RSS or Atom. You don’t have to do any extra work beyond posting and it allows people to read all of their favorite blogs in one place (Facebook).

3) Use the group for deeper discussions of topics, soliciting and sharing ideas. People who have created/joined a group want greater interaction.

Good luck… I’m off to join the group now!

Oh, and as for Twitter… I have my Facebook set to update my status with what I tweet. No duplication of efforts and I give each set of followers information in the way they like to receive it.

I’m with you on Twitter & Facebook – I really don’t like Facebook because it is really difficult to separate personal and business – and I don’t want my personal stuff out there but half the people who invite me to join on Facebook are friends, and half are business – I also tried the other pages but they also got lost in cyberspace.
I do like http://www.twitterfeed.com which feeds each blog post to twitter. Linked In also has something called Blog Link which feeds your blog, and twitter posts, onto your profile page. My goal for the spring is to streamline all my internet stuff so I can do the least amount of effort with the maximum exposure. I love blogging and being online but there is more to life than this!! and I need to be sure to do something other than sit here.
I’m with Deb above – got forced into Facebook but I did recently close it up and I’m not there any more – just emailed everyone and told them why. Such a relief. Twitter is fun because it’s quick and easy – and I’ve learned a ton from people who post great links to blog posts and articles – plus made some fabulous contacts with others in our profession.

Thanks for the link to my class. What a great idea for a post – “brain dump”. :)

I’m not a FB expert but I like fan pages better than groups (thus far) b/c I don’t have intentions of getting active w/ group conversations. I just like to promote the pages that I’m a fan of. I’ll sign up for both of yours, though.
