I use a binder. I recently blogged about this here is the link:

http://adamandkrisi.blogspot.com/2009/01/tackle-it-tuesday-update.html

It is at the bottom (mainly just pictures) but I plan on doing a seperate post for this month and work on organizing my computerized ones.

The binder now has mainly the tried and true recipes.

WHat I have been doing lately is e-mailing my phone the recipe I want to try (wastes NO paper) if it is good then I save it to tried and true in the computer -- if I then go back and use it again then I print and it will go in the binder. I am hoping this will help keep the clutter of unused recipes out of the binder!

Sorry I can't help you with this mine are a disaster. I did just start a notebook with recipes of things I make often in hopes that I will be able to give each of my kids one someday. That's as far as I have gotten though. I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

well, i find that recipes go in phases for me. right now it's the crepe phase. so i reserved one upper kitchen cabinet door and inside the door (where no one can see) i tape the recipes of the hour so i don't have to go looking for them. this is also useful for recipes i really want to try but know that i'll forget about if i put them away.

for the rest, i use a binder much like you blogged about before, but i really love having this fingertip resource for some.

I use MasterCook to organize my recipes. I have set up cookbooks for my favorites (tried and true), recipes to try, Weight Watchers, etc. One great feature is I can cut and paste from internet recipes!

Where did the month of January go? I got into this roundup too late so I'm still working on weeding through paper clutter and purging and organizing. DH's closet system will be installed next week so I'm hoping that some of this stuff can go back in there or I can shift some stuff from my closet to his, but don't tell him! Organized one side of the linen closet last night after he pitched a fit because he couldn't find a Dobie Pad. Of course, in looking for one for him, a bunch of towels, etc. came tumbling down so I figured I might as well tackle the entire closet. It looks so nice, wished it would stay that way.

I love reading your website! I missed out on getting my files organized but got some great tips for doing so (and it is sorely needed - they're all in boxes and not really sorted, in some cases). So I will have to get to that. But I need to do recipes, too. So maybe I can join in this month!

I haven't tried this system myself, but read somewhere how someone had a gmail account (free, web-based) set up for recipes they received from online sources. They would not give this email out to anyone but would send any recipes they want to try to this account. Or other cooking tips, etc. It was ONLY used for this purpose (not for any other types of emails). And could be categorized within that by types of dishes or tips or however you want. I was thinking to maybe use this for recipes to try to keep them separate from the keepers but still somewhat organized... without all the extra paper or clutter on my PC but there are lots of options.
