The best part of a Christmas basket is?

The basket of course!  Oh my word how I love to make Christmas baskets!  Love, love, love it!  Arranging and rearranging all sorts of little goodies into a container of some sort.  Be still my heart…really does it get any better than that!!

Here’s a lovely little basket I made for someone this year.

And of course what would a basket be without a little personal touch from me attached to the bow…..he he….love my 3M Command Hooks!

(and yes there is something that needs to be hung up in that basket :) )

As you can see I love to use dollar store containers as my base.  Not only are they so wonderfully functional but they also come in so many fantastic colors and sizes.

They also just make me very very happy :)

Gifts in a jar also get me giddy at this time of the year.  Obviously I just can’t get enough of the gift containerizing, what a high!  For jar ideas check out Jar Gift Recipes courtesy of Organized Christmas.

And since we are speaking of Christmas this might be a good time to share some other fantastic links that I’ve been hoarding collecting.  I’ve mentioned that I’m not much of a baker (although I do occasionally give it a try) but I do love looking at the pictures of all the delicious concoctions being created at this time of the year.  The plus side?  Looking at the pictures is definitely less fattening than actually making them and eating one too many LOL.

I may be scarce over the next couple of weeks (although I do have something exciting to post about tomorrow!).  I’ll pop in and out when I get a chance but I don’t want to put any pressure on myself.  I just want to relax, enjoy my family and maybe just maybe even read a book.  Ah that would be nice :)

I *LOVE* making gift baskets! This year my sis let me know she was getting my kids movies for Christmas, so in return I am surprising her and her hubby with an awesome movie basket! And I always give gift baskets at baby showers (I probably get more excited about that than the actual new baby! JK)

This might sound strange, but where can I get cellofane to wrap around the baskets? This post just gave me some great ideas for “wrapping” some of the stuff I’ve already purchased for people. Thanks & love your site.

You can purchase the cellophane at any Dollar Store as well. It typically comes in rolls although you can get clear cellophane gift bags as well to tie around your gifts which is a little bit easier.

When I was fundraising for our second adoption I used to make cookies in jar to sale. They are easy to make and everyone love them.

Thank you for all the info. It is late so I will visit again tomorrow and check them out. What is with the Organizing and Menu planning html’s? I am new but really like your site. I want nothing more in life that to be organized, totally and completely. Thanks again.

I might be picking up some of those containers. I was just going to gift bag what we’re giving but I like the basket idea better.

Laura,
I visited my local dollar store last night. I’m so excited! I picked up 5 baskets, clear wrap and ribbon & bows to make 4 Christmas baskets and one birthday basket (for my sister). You inspired me, I never thought it could be so easy to do a gift basket on my own. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas you share with the rest of us!

We’re giving a Family Movie Snack Basket as a Holiday Giveaway at our store. It’s been a great hit.
Now that I’m hooked on the gift basket idea we’ll have to do one for Valentines’ Day too.
