Mine is ugly plastic box but I use it all the time. You could fill yours with fun pens, assorted cards, stationary, stickers for sealing envelopes and stamps. Put it next to your favorite chair and you can write letters to family, thank you cards for gifts and the dreaded Christmas Cards all while watching a show. However, it might not be kid safe for younger ones. The first idea I had is, if you're bathroom is big enough, you could roll up bath towels and put them in it, though maybe it's too big for towels.
