What about making a stationary kit... Mine is ugly plastic box but I use it all the time. You could fill yours with fun pens, assorted cards, stationary, stickers for sealing envelopes and stamps. Put it next to your favorite chair and you can write letters to family, thank you cards for gifts and the dreaded Christmas Cards all while watching a show. I find I like doing things much better if all of my supplies are gathered and neatly contained!

How cute! I agree with a few of the others ... I think I would also put blankets or reading material in it.

I was looking for a special chest, right before I clicked on your blog! I would use your recent find to store memories for my children, of their childhood. My children were born in China, and I have saved their clothes from adoption day, their bottles, favorite books, favorite clothes, letters I've written to them, DVDs of art work, etc. You've inspired me that I can find something without paying a small fortune! Enjoy!

It looks like a kids pirates chest!
However, it might not be kid safe for younger ones.

I don't do Halloween, but it would look cool to have dry ice or a smoke machine with the smoke billowing out of chest and the candy at top middle some how.

I like the idea of using it for magazines & books or games, though we have WAY too many games to put in that little chest. The first idea I had is, if you're bathroom is big enough, you could roll up bath towels and put them in it, though maybe it's too big for towels. Anyway, whatever you use it for it was a FABULOUS purchase.

I would use it first for Halloween---that's where I would put my candy that I hand out--neighborhood kids would love it! Then I would put it under the Christmas tree with wrapped gifts in it. Guess I would keep holiday-multi-purposing it!
