A whole lot of linking going on around here…..
Okay how much fun was that checking out all the basket love going on at the carnival? Really you should have seen me squealing with delight at the fact that I’m not the only basket freak around here. You guys are awesome! I still have a few more to check out but I’m savoring every second :)
So this month Org Junkie’s Monthly Organizing Round-Up has us working on the kids’ bedroom. How are you all doing? Hard to believe the month is almost over. I still have a few posts I want to do on the subject but what can I say, I’m easily distracted by basket carnivals and such! If you haven’t seen this month’s prize package you can see it here. Thanks to Lifeorganizers.com for their sponsorship!
I had intended to post about how to get your kids involved in the organizing process but when I read this post (link below) of Debbie’s I realized that she took the words right out of my mouth. So go have a read and just imagine you hear my voice in the background saying amen and amen.
Rules to Grow By: Helping Kids Learn the Basics of Organizing
And while you are over at Debbie’s take a moment to read about the super fantastic contest she has going on. You could win a 6 month virtual organizing consultation package valued at $570.00! Exciting stuff!
I’ve recently started reading a great blog called Life as Mom. Jessica shared two links with me that are very much in line with this month’s challenge so I want to pass them along to you:
Creative suggestions for when kids share a bedroom
Clean Kid Rooms? Tips for Making Fantasy a Reality
Finally Jason from Long Days and Pleasant Nights has a podcast up appropriately called De-cluttering the Kids’ Rooms that you also might enjoy. He has a great voice, seriously go listen for yourself :)
Happy organizing my friends! Keep plugging along on those kids’ rooms. I can’t wait to see them.

I have just started visiting your blog every day so I’m not sure how the Round-up works. I’m going to go check it out though! I’ve been wanting to overhaul and reorganize both the kids’ (mainly the older one’s) rooms and now I have something to motivate me! Thanks!
thanks for the links, how did you know that McKenna’s room is being purged of three years worth of clothing?? i will check out all of the links…have a great day.
Hi Laura, I want to say that I really appreciate your blog–and wondered if it was okay to link to you—-also, with so many people asking you questions and commenting, I want to tell you thank you so much for taking the time to email me—-I was so happy—not only do you have an awesome blog, but you are gracious as well:::clapping:::
Julieann:)
What an awesome blog, I have been lurking for a few months now, taking so many great ideas. I got into my Boys room the other day (2 sharing a room) while they were at school and threw out/passed on alot of stuff. When they came home, we talked about everything they have has its own “home” and let them pick their favorite things to put in their “homes” – we have had a clean bedroom for about 6 days straight now. I have taken on board the “something new replaces something old” rule so that we don’t get too much stuff laying around. We don’t have much in possessions, but our children appreciate all they have, and they are always willing to give away things to charity to those who have less.
Hey, thanks for the link. I really appreciate it. My latest podcast is up now, where I talk about visualization. It’s quite a bit shorter than the previous ones, but, I hope, still just as interesting.
