The possibilities are endless really….

in Kitchen,Organizing

Last year I was so excited when I bought some new baskets to use to organize my dishcloths, teatowels and bibs. Here is a picture of it.

Well the other day I decided to change it up for no other reason than to try something different. I love trying out different configurations. Same drawer, different baskets. I like to be wild and crazy like that. Here is what it looks like now.

I know you’re jealous of my exciting life right about now aren’t you :)

I don’t like to show favoritism with my baskets you see so it’s only right that I rotate them around.

You know, for FUN!

It’s a sickness.

But it does go to show you that there just isn’t one way to do something. The possibilities are endless. Try some different ways, see what works, what doesn’t. When you can find things within two minutes, when you aren’t stressed by the clutter, wasting more time than you have looking for things or spending money you don’t have replacing things you can’t find you’ll know you are on the right track.

But be careful because just when you think you’ve got it just right you’ll realize just how much fun you’ve been having and decide to change things up again.

You know, for FUN!

Oh yes it can happen to you too and you better believe I’ll be here waiting to hear all about it.

PS: If you are wondering what that black thing is in the second picture it is one of those neck heat packs. I just realized that it looks kind of odd sitting there.

LOL Live Dangerously! You’ve got me hooked on these baskets! I’m lovin’ them! I’ve even got my creamers and sugar bowl in a basket next to our coffee pot. They haven’t invaded the entire house yet but they’re coming!

I need to get me some of those baskets. I have a couple of areas in my house that could use those. Keep living dangerously girl :)

I need matching baskets for all our mittens-gloves-hats-scarves. Right now I have mismatched ones, and they’re sitting right out there by the door where everyone can see them.

Not sure how this comment relates to the post. Sorry.

I love this. It’s so good to know other people do this sort of thing! It’s a very scientific art, it could be classed as “time and motion studies”. Which way round your baskets work best and easiest for you, I’, sure people get paid for this sort of thing. Yup, definitely keep living dangerously!

I’m the same way, so don’t feel bad, LOL! The only difference is that I don’t admit it’s for fun but always hide behind the rationalization of trying to be more effective/productive. :)

Did you see the picture of my pantry with all the baskets?! They’re even labeled. I think I’ve caught your sickness! :-)

Hi! I was just referred to your blog by Bev at Scratchin’ the Surface – wow! what have I been missing! I’m going to have fun poking around here.

Bev also thought I should tell you about a post I recently did on organizing all my craft and sewing patterns. But from what I have seen on your site already, I’m sure I’m old news!

I like to change things up “for the fun of it” too! And the great thing is, I always like it better the 2nd time around (or 3rd, or 4th…). Hee hee!!

I really liked your photos, how fun to change things around. Do you like one way better than the other? Baskets are my favorite things to use when organizing.

I totally understand. I gaze lovingly at my new 49 cent baskets at least 2-3 times a day. I still haven’t found a home for the 4th basket or had the time to go searching for more.

You crack me UP! That is so funny. I am pretty sure you need to hire out to organize OTHER people’s homes if you have enough time to mess with a perfectly well tamed cupboard of your own! :-)
Happy thursday!

I love it! I’ve actually been thinking for days and days that I need to rearrange the living room (How else do you clean under the furniture?) But I am so happy with the current configuration. You have encouraged me that their can be more than one happy way to organize! And why do you keep saying, ‘..you know…for FUN..’ like its wierd? Is it wierd to organize for fun? Do I need a doctor??

In my new home I find myself doing this endlessly. Things may work better in *this* configuration, I decide, and the rearranging begins. I love that I’m allowing myself to take the time to do these things — because I truly have found better ways while rearranging! Case in point: my kitchen was originally arranged the way I thought it “should be.” Well, after the 15th time I opened the cabinet to reach for a glass only to pull out granola, I decided to take the time and do it better. I haven’t poured water into granola since. Hurray for endless possibilities!

So many good kitchen organizing ideas! I love this. A woman after my own heart. Here I’m trying to save money and budget but I’m planning a trip to the dollar store. You have inspired me to organize my kitchen even though I should be packing it! LOL!

One evening I rearranged my bookcases. In the middle of the project my husband came home and saw me in my glory and said – “Stinks to be you” – he was laughing, because he knows how much I really enjoy that kinda stuff…..

I don’t have a drawer for my towels, wash cloths, bibs and hot pads. I have a funky cabinet with a half shelf that those items sit on. I’ve been wanting to get baskets to keep everything organized in but always forget. I’ve got work to do for February!

You are so cute with your basket obsession! I am just the same about purses, bags, pouches… sigh… It’s important to rotate them, right? So nobody feels left out…. ;)

Have a great day!

I was looking at your website last night and at about 1am I’m laying in bed thinking about what baskets I have that I can use, buying more baskets, where to start organizing……..lol I love your blog!!! I like organization and used to try so hard but we had to remodel a lot of our house so that equals no where to put stuff and nothing in it’s place. The bedrooms are all done and the new garage is getting organized. I want to start on other parts of the house and you have inspired me!
Thank you!!!
